This morning we came here to photograph my new Mermaid dress however the beach was different from the pix I saw online so we gave up. Still it is very cute but a little dangerous to swim as the current is strong. It is one of the famous landmarks of Miyako Island!!

It's shaky as I was stood in the sea.
Colours haven't been adjusted. This is how it looks on a VERY sunny day.
(It reminds me so much of Besaid Island from Final Fantasy X)

The Beaches of Miyako Island
There are picturesque sand beaches for swimming and relaxing. While the beaches are open year round. Best enjoyable months are from April to November when the air temperature consistently tops 25 degrees and the water is very warm.
Sunayama Beach
With its beautiful white sand, clear blue waters and rock formations, Sunayama Beach is one of Miyako's most beautiful beaches. It is reached in a short walk over a sand hill from the parking lot. Its facilities include showers and toilets.
Access Information:
Miyako Island is a relatively small island, measuring about 25 kilometers from south to north and about 15 kilometers from east to west.
A rental car is the most convenient means of getting around Miyako.

Miyako is the fourth largest island in Okinawa Prefecture. It lacks any major hills or mountains and is mostly covered by sugar cane fields and a few towns, among which Hirara is the largest with a moderate range of restaurants and bars. Resort hotels and pensions are found across the island. Unlike other parts of Okinawa, Miyako is free of habu snakes.
Miyakojima is famous for its clear blue ocean which is said to be the most beautiful in Japan and for its white sandy beaches which rank on #4 among the Top 20 beaches in Japan. No wonder that Miyakojima attracts visitors from all over the globe!
