We spent the day traveling around Suncheon. First, we started the day at the Suncheon Open Film Set. Later, we caught a taxi to the National Garden and took the SkyCube to Suncheon Bay Ecological Park.

Just like the K-Dramas | Suncheon, South Korea
In Suncheon, there is an open film set. There are different sections set in the 1960's, 70's, and 80's. It was fun wandering the streets.
They have school uniforms you can rent to take pictures in. I'm not usually one to dress up like that, but decided to this time.
It's a little dusty and signed are just sitting on the ground so I don't think it's been used recently but I had a great time at the film set.

[TRIPofJHL] Traveling Suncheon Open Film Location
Locating in Suncheon-si, Jeollanam-do, Suncheon Open Film Location is the place built with about 200 houses to implement alleys of 1960s Suncheon and hillside slum of 1970s Seoul. Many dramas and movies depicting such lives flimed here. Tour course consists of two parts as mentioned earlier.
- Hillside slum in 1970s is a poor concentration village on a hill. Narrow and coarse stairways covered with cement leads to poor houses. There's a tiny church on top.
- The little town in 1960s is a small town. There are a photo studio, a movie theater, pubs, a comic shop, a disco stage, a factory, stream and toilets. School uniform shop is the place to start to attractions.
This is one of the popular touristic venues in Suncheon City. Especially, for seniors.

[TRIPofJHL] 순천시 드라마촬영장 여행…
전라남도 순천시에 위치한 순천드라마촬영장은 60년대 순천시내의 뒷골목과 70년대의 서울 달동네의 모습을 200여 채의 건물로 재현한 드라마 촬영장이라고 한다. 당시의 생활상을 담은 각종 드라마 또는 영화가 이곳에서 촬영되었다. 관람코스도 앞서 언급한 것처럼 크게 두 지역으로 나뉜다.
- 서울 달동네는 언덕에 밀집된 판자집으로 지어진 빈민촌이다. 시멘트를 대충 발라서 만든 좁고 엉성한 골목을 따라 올라가다 보면 부실하게 지어진 초라한 집들이 나오고, 정상에는 작은 교회가 위치해 있다.
- 순천 뒷골목은 작은 마을과 같다. 사진관, 영화관, 저잣거리, 만화방, 디스코텍, 공장, 하천, 변소 등이 있다. 교복 대여소에서 교복을 입고 곳곳에서 당시의 생활상을 체험할 수 있다.
순천의 인기 관광지인 이곳은 관광객들, 특히 중장년층의 방문이 많다.
순천오픈세트장, 드라마촬영지, 드라마촬영소 등 다양한 이름으로도 불린다.

Suncheon Open Film Set(Drama set) is the largest film and drama filming site in Korea, with a vivid image of a hillside village in Bongcheon-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul in its 1960s and 80s, which doesn't exist anymore. It is known as a filming location that calls for good luck.

Sogang's student exchange program organized a field trip to tour a city outside of Seoul. Suncheon is a city outside of Seoul that is known for Suncheon Bay which is a wetland reserve. Suncheon also has beautiful gardens as well. Our program chose Suncheon because not many foreigners get to visit this area or partake in some cultural traditions. It was a nice getaway from the city. The specific places we visited was: Suncheon Bay National Garden, Songgwangsa, Seonamsa, and Nagan Eupseong Folk Village (Traditional Korean Village)
