This Fish Named Yoriko And A Japanese Scuba Diver Are Best Friends For Over 25 years

Beneath the surface of Japan's Tateyama Bay stands a shrine called a torii, sacred to the Shinto religion. But more than being a place of spiritual importance, the Tateyama Bay is host to something else that's remarkable — a unique friendship between a man and a fish. For 25 years, an Asian sheepshead wrasse living off the coast of Japan has been greeting diver Hiroyuki Arakawa whenever he goes to tend an underwater Shinto shrine near Tateyama in Chiba prefecture. Arakawa uses a mallet to strike the shrine like a bell to tell Yoriko that he is visiting him.

ダイチ画伯の全国神社巡り、一ノ宮巡りの旅。第7回目は安房一ノ宮　洲崎神社です。

令和元年台風15号の被災地、千葉県館山市にある神社、洲崎神社です。
拝殿の一部破損と倒木などの多少の被害はありましたが社殿は奇跡のごとく無事です。
地域復興のためにも一度お参りください！

This is SUNOSAKI-JINNJYA, a shrine located in Tateyama City, Chiba Prefecture.
Although the shrine was partially damaged and there was some damage such as falling trees, the shrine is safe like a miracle.
