Borax Lake Site, also known as Borax Lake—Hodges Archaeological Site is an archaeological site near Clearlake, California.A portion of the site is owned and preserved by the Archaeological Conservancy. In 2006, a National Park Service statement about it read: The Borax Lake Site is considered of national significance as the type site for a major prehistoric period in the far western United States, the Paleo-Indian , referred to in archeological literature of the Western Great Basin and California as the Post Pattern. The occurrence of Clovis-like projectile points from Borax Lake in the Coast Range of northern California dramatically extended the geographic scope of Paleo-Indian occupation into the far western United States.

Nature Lover in Oregon-Forest Fires-Uttarakhand and Oregon
Forest fires are as old as the forests themselves. The Himalayan forests, particularly, Garhwal Himalayas have been burning regularly during the last few summers, with colossal loss of vegetation cover of that region. Forest fire causes imbalances in nature and endangers biodiversity by reducing faunal and floral wealth.
Traditionally Indian forests have been affected by fires. Environmental causes are largely related to climatic conditions such as temperature, wind speed and direction, level of moisture in soil and atmosphere and duration of dry spells. In 2016, forest fires have been noted in numerous places across the Indian state of Uttarakhand. These fires, set mainly in pine forests in the slopes of the sub-Himalayan region, produced clouds of smoke. National Disaster Response Force and Indian Air Force Mi-17 helicopters fitted with Bambi buckets doused the fires with water. The forest department estimated that 8,600 acres of forest had been burnt. Over 6000 people worked for three months to control the fires. The rains helped to reduce the impact of the fires.
Forest fires happen throughout the world.
While on a visit to Oregon, U.S.A I had a chance to observe the effective manner in which visitors to fire affected forests are educated about wild fires. The B&B Complex fires were a linked pair of wildfires that together burned 90,769 acres of Oregon forest during the summer of 2003. The two fires were reported on the same day and eventually burned together, forming a single fire area that stretched along the crest of the Cascade Mountains (Mount Hood of Portland is part of the Cascade range) between Mount Jefferson and Mount Washington. At the base of the Cascade range is the scenic Sun River. On the western side of the Cascades, the fire consumed mostly Douglas-fir and western hemlock. On the eastern side of the mountains, the fire burned mostly Ponderosa pine, lodgepole pine, and jack pine. Most of the burned area was on public land administered by the United States Forest Service including 40,419 acres within the Mount Jefferson Wilderness. Firefighters battled the blaze for 34 days. At the peak of the firefighting effort, there were over 2,300 personnel working on the fire. The cost of fire suppression was over $38 million.
The slides in the video are worth pausing and reading in detail to understand how a degraded forest, burnt by wildfire, is being brought back to life.

Kootenai Falls Montana
Kootenai Falls is the largest free flowing falls in the state. It offers an unforgettable and breathtaking view as the Kootenai River loses 300 feet in elevation traveling a few hundred yards down river. A pleasant surprise to any photographer or nature lover. An attraction at the falls is a swinging bridge that provides access to the opposite side of the Kootenai River, a prime Montana fishery. To the Kootenai tribe, the falls is a sacred site. They view it as the center of the world, a place where tribal members can commune with the spiritual forces that give direction to the tribe and to individual members.
