THE BLUE HAWAIIAN DIFFERENCE There's simply no argument: Blue Hawaiian is Hawaii's #1 helicopter tour company. Blue Hawaiian's aircraft maintenance technicians have received the FAA's coveted Certificate of Excellence, Diamond Award every year since 1998. No other helicopter tour company in Hawaii has ever received this critical recognition. Blue Hawaiian was honored by the FAA for its record 12th straight year in January, 2009, at a ceremony in Honolulu, and the FAA further honored Blue Hawaiian with the very first Certificate of Excellence, Platinum Award. And Blue Hawaiian is the only helicopter tour company in Hawaii certified by the Department of Defense.
Welcome to the Blue Skies of Hawaii. Blue is the only helicopter tour company serving all four major Hawaiian islands: Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island. That means wherever you go in the Islands of Aloha, you know exactly how to get the world's finest aerial tours: just remember the color of the sky.
We don't just operate the best equipment, we help develop it. From the ultra-quiet, spacious, and powerful 21st-century Eco-Star helicopter to the breakthrough Garmin G500H technology, which gives our pilots astonishing three-dimensional synthetic vision terrain awareness in less than optimal weather; from our pioneering of multi-camera in-flight video, to designing vastly improved cockpit air-conditioning—Blue Hawaiian is always at the forefront of leading-edge innovations for your safety, comfort, and enjoyment. Because when it comes to our guests, good enough is never enough.
The finest pilots in the sky. Blue Hawaiian prides itself on hand-picking only the finest and most experienced pilots—the absolute cream of the profession—and every one of them is a State of Hawaii Certified Tour Guide. Blue Hawaiian is also the only helicopter tour company in Hawaii with its own state-of-the-art Flight Simulator, and the only one that puts its pilots through annual factory and FAA recurrent training.

Blue Hawaiian Helicopter - Kohala Coast Tour
I finally got to go on a helicopter!!! I went with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters on Hawaii's Big Island. So much fun! Awesome valleys, waterfalls, spectacular views!
Kauai by Helicopter | Hawaii
It takes a bird’s eye view from a helicopter to see what the Hawaiian island of Kauai really looks like and witness the natural breathtaking beauty of the Garden Isle.
Jenna and I had the opportunity to take a helicopter tour of Kauai during our last visit. We lifted off from the Lihue Airport towards Nawiliwili harbor and the Kauai Marriot Resort.
Our first air destination was the tropical Hanapepe Valley which is known for its fantastic rainbows.
Next we saw the 400 ft. high Manawaiopuna Falls made famous in the movie Jurassic Park and entered Olokele Canyon, the gateway to the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, Waimea.
We explored the spectacular and isolated NaPali Coast and saw majestic mountains, cascading waterfalls, secluded beaches and pristine cathedral cliffs.
As our flight continued past the ancient caves and terraces, our pilot and owner of Island Helicopters - Curt Lofstedt - shared great legends of Hawaii and its people.
We also saw Bali Hai and Lumahai Beach made famous in the movie South Pacific and flew to Hanalei Bay & Valley with a view of Princeville Resort.
Finally we flew inside the crater of Mt. Waialeale volcano where waterfalls cascade thousands of feet to the valley below.
Many other fantastic locations were seen on this tour including Wailua Falls seen on the 80's TV show Fantasy Island.
This is a tour you don’t want to miss during your visit to Kauai. In the meantime, enjoy the video we took during our flight. Thank you to Island Helicopters for the amazing experience.
Island Helicopters is one of the oldest helicopter companies in Hawaii, started in 1980. The company is family owned and locally operated. They specialize in very personal tours for the independent traveler, families or groups of any size. They are the only company where the owner, Curt Lofstedt - our pilot -, continues to fly tours.

Carole & Mikaila Kauai Trip 2019
SEE BELOW FOR PLACES & COMPANIES WE USED IS IN THE VIDEO
My mom and I went to Kauai this year for the holiday season to get away, and let me tell you that this place is actual paradise. We were fortunate enough to get to do so many things and saw almost everything I wanted to while there. Below are the things seen in the video, and the companies we booked each of the excursions through.
00:24- Drive up Waimea Canyon and stop at multiple of the lookout points along the drive.
00:59- Helicopter ride over most of the main sights in Kauai. This was one of my favorite parts of the whole trip! We booked with Sunshine helicopters.
02:03- Stopped at a beach on the west side of the island Kekaha beach. It rained a lot while we were there but the locals let us in on a secret that when all the rest of the island is rainy, the west side is almost always dry so we stopped of at the beach there multiple times.
02:28- I can't rave enough about how fun this tubing excursion was!!! We went on a day that was a bit rainy but that didn't take away from how awesome it was. It was booked through Kauai Backcountry Adventures.
03:25- It was POURING rain but it didn't stop us from going on the awesome biplane tour through the Kauai mountains. We booked with Skyline Eco-Adventures, they were awesome and the scenery was breathtaking
04:45- Walking along the beach in Kapa'a!
05:06- When going to Hawaii you have to get the Hawaiian experience and go to a Luau. We went to the one at the Grand Hyatt and it was so much fun. The tickets are quite pricey so be warned, but the food was incredible and the performances were amazing!
05:33- The kayak and hike to the secret falls was one of my favorite days on the trip. You rent a kayak at Kamokila Hawaiian village, be warned that the kayak rentals sell out super super quickly so make sure to be there right when they open. you kayak up the river a little ways, park the kayak on the sand, and the hike to the secret falls. The hike is pretty crazy because you are going through rivers and the trail gets super muddy, but boy is the end view worth it!!!!
07:34- Day at Hanalei Bay and surf town! This is a super popular part of the island because there are a ton of cute shops, eateries, an a nice calm bay where you can paddle board and walk out onto the pier.
08:29- visit to Maniniholo Dry Cave and walk along tunnels beach!
09:01- Awaawapuhi Trail in koke'e state park! This was definitely a challenging hike, but the view at the end was absolutely breathtaking!!!
09:27- Catameran Snorkeling cruise with the company Captain Andy's. The sailors were incredible on this cruise! I can't rave enough about their professionalism, and just being down right awesome! The food on the trip was so good too, and I got to SWIM WITH SEA TURTLES!!!!!! A huge highlight of the trip for me!
A few honorary mentions that didn't make it into the video but were amazing are:
-Snorkeling at Poipu beach
-Snorkeling at Anini Beach
-Kapa'a for their food trucks(especially the shaved ice) and little shopping

The video contrasts the Queen's Bath area during stormy and calmer seas (Mar 22 and Mar 26, 2010). Forecast surf heights were 4-6ft vs 12-15ft.
Kaua'i Air Tour 2 - Napali Coast
Mauna Loa Helicopters Kaua'i really lived up to their excellent reviews. We went with the 'doors open' version of the tour on their Robinson R44, and despite the high winds and slightly overcast conditions, we had a blast. The videos are a bit shaky due to the gale force winds but hopefully good enough for those seeking some information on Kaua'i air tours. Thanks to all the folks at Mauna Loa Helicopters!
Note: Please lower your speaker volume as the video wind noise is quite high.
