DOGS, SURF, & SUNSET (almost) at CANGGU BEACH, Bali, Indonesia // 185
I felt like a kid again swimming in the big waves on Canggu Beach in Bali, Indonesia. Canggu is popular among surfers, and I can see why. I spent hours just swimming in the surf.
The beach itself was mostly clean and I enjoyed spending all day in the sand. I did walk along the shore to a cozy bar called The Shack on Canggu Beach where I indulged in some fries and a smoothie. It's not quite the same as Jersey Boardwalk fries and ice cream, but it's pretty close! I recommend The Shack to anyone planning a relaxing day or evening on Canggu Beach in Bali.
My first beach experience in Bali was at Kuta Beach ( ) which was extremely disappointing. However, Bali has almost redeemed itself with Canggu Beach, where I'd be happy to spend a few more days lounging about with the dogs and the waves.

Big Glassy Clean-Up Set At Uluwatu - 5 May 2019
Like being dumped by a beautiful woman, most of the lineup felt the brunt of one of the prettiest looking clean-up sets I've seen in a while. There were probably about a dozen surfers who decided to go with the flow and end the session at that point.
An oil slick smooth surface combined with overhead waves doesn't happen all that often, even here in Indonesia. But the glassy conditions persisted with consistent waves all morning.

Joey Sees World Vol. 3 || Bali
A couple weeks back I took a little surf holiday with my buddy Alexander to Bali, Indonesia. Awesome island for a little R&R and some of the most incredible surf, culture, and food I've experienced. A bit bummed that I busted my GoPro with some surf footage but happy this edit turned out beautifully. We were mainly in Canggu and Uluwatu. Check it out!

Surfing is an individual activity and we've all got our eye on the prize. But for all our self involved motivation, there are times when get the chance to do something nice for someone else in the lineup.
Take this bloke who paddled in to fetch a fellow surfer's board. It wasn't like it was on his way, but he still went for it anyway.
Good job buddy.
This clip was from yesterday, and the swell has filled in since then. It wasn't huge today, but Surfline is calling for a decent jump in size for tomorrow, so hopefully some Padang Padang action.
