Neath Port Talbot Mountain Biking
Youngsters in Neath Port Talbot are taking to two wheels to help them take advantage of the borough's hills, valleys and countryside.
Extra mountain biking sessions have been provided at Margam Park for school children across the area.
Funded in partnership by Sport Wales and Neath Port Talbot Council's Physical Activity and Sport Service (PASS), the aim is to give a taste of the off-road routes around the park and develop links to local clubs and biking projects.
Co-ordinated through the Mentro Allan project, the mountain biking sessions mean that even more youngsters can take part and try the sport.
Sport Wales Community Sport Strategy Launch
Sport Wales has published a strategy for community sport in Wales -- designed to challenge the sports sector to up the ante in increasing the number of people across the nation playing sport.
Chair of Sport Wales, Professor Laura McAllister was joined at the launch by Sports Minister, Huw Lewis to announce the news that Sport Wales is to invest a further £9million National Lottery funding into community sport over the next three years. In total this means that Sport Wales will be injecting a total of almost £32m a year into community sport in Wales.

Short talk on the set up i was using including rods, line, method and a new addition to the arsenal Pirates Potion. Had some really good reviews prior to buying and using this stuff and it didn't let me down on the day, With the weather i will be honest wasn't expecting much but ended the day with 3 on dead baits injected with the pirates potion and 2 on lure.
Good to be out on the bank testing new things and it payed off the docks has never really been a place to do well on dead baits but i think the potion defiantly helped. I'm going to be spending a lot more time at this venue over the next few months until the rivers and everywhere opens back up in June. It holds a good head of fish and from what i have heard some really big fish as well so hopefully will be able to bag a 20lb from here this year.
Ethan Ashby - Sky Sports Living for Sport Wales Student of the Year
Neath Port Talbot-based student, Ethan Ashby, of Llandarcy Community Centre in Llandarcy, was presented with Student of the Year Award for Wales at the Sky Sports Living for Sport Awards 2011.
Ethan joined 11 other regional finalists from across the UK at a glittering awards ceremony held at Wembley Stadium, where Olympic sprint legend and Sky Sports Living for Sport Ambassador Darren Campbell presented his award.
Ethan stood out as a winner because his story clearly demonstrated how sport and sport skills can be used to encourage young people to take ownership of their own learning and reach their true potential.

7th April 2011. Staff and guests gathered to witness the acceptance of the International Excellence Award, receieved by the Aberavon Beach Hotel, from Best Western International. To date, the Aberavon Beach Hotel, based in Port Talbot, Swansea Bay is the only Best Western Hotel in Wales to receive this honour.
Christmas in Swansea City Centre
We love living and working in Swansea so decided to create a special Christmas message from the city centre and its businesses. We decided to create a film that would be real and authentic and would encourage viewers to share via social media. The idea was to ask the businesses of Swansea City Centre what Christmas means to them and to then capture their responses in written words on heart shaped Big Heart of Swansea chalk board.
