Famara beach (Playa de Famara) is one of the best Lanzarote beaches. Not only is it long and golden, but it's the heart of the Lanzarote surf culture.
Lanzarote weather is good all year around, (as are the rest of the Canary Islands,) which is why so many people come to surf in Lanzarote.
(And if you're tried all the best Lanzarote beaches Costa Teguise has to offer, Famara is about a 30 minute drive.)
The beach is next to Caleta de Famara, a small town full of surf schools, surf shops and a few great bars and restaurants. We start our video here in Caleta de Famara before heading to Famara Beach.

Costa Teguise - Strände
Die Strände in Costa Teguise sind weitgehend künstlich angelegt worden. Bis auf den Playa del Ancla sind alle miteinander durch Fußwege und Promenaden miteinander verbunden.
Der Playa del Ancla liegt etwas außerhalb des Ortes direkt unterhalb des Hotels Oasis de Lanzarote. Eine kleine geschützte Bucht mit zwei kleinen Sandstränden mit flachem Einstieg. Es gibt hier keine besonderen Einrichtungen.
Der Playa Bastian ist ein ca. 200 m langer Strand, der von einigen Klippen unterbrochen ist. Auch hier gibt es keine Einrichtungen am Strand. Am zentralsten liegt der Playa Jabillio, ein Strand mit hellem Sand und schwarzen Klippen. Er ist zum Meer durch zwei Molen geschützt. Hier findet man auch Liegestuhl- und Sonnenschirmverleih, sowie eine Tretboot Vermietung. Und auch kleine Restaurants befinden sich in der Nähe.
Der Playa de las Cucharas ist der bekannteste und Hauptstrand von Costa Teguise. Er befindet sich an einer langen sehr windigen Bucht, die ein wenig von einer Mole geschützt wird. Die eine Hälfte des Strandes ist für die zahlreichen Surfer reserviert, die andere Hälfte gehört den sonnen- und badehungrigen Urlaubern. Man findet hier auch zahlreiche Strandbars, eine Tauchschule, diverse Surfschulen sowie Tretboot, Liegestuhl- und Sonnenschirmverleih.
Östlich liegt der Playa de los Charcos, eine runde Sandbucht, die sich fast übergangslos an den Hauptstrand anschließt. Auch hier findet man viele Surfer sowie den Lanzarote Beach Club. Auch hier kann man Liegestühle und Sonnenschirme mieten.

Beautiful Costa Teguise on the east coast of Lanzarote, with stunning coastline & sandy beaches, amazing volcanic rock formations and streets adorned with fabulous palm trees. Sometimes overlooked by tourist Costa Teguise is a must for anyone visiting Lanzarote.
Due to the constant gentle winds, it's known locally as Breezy Teguise. Locals and tourists alike are drawn here for the glorious beaches: Playa de los Charcos, Playa de las Cucharas, Playa del Jablillo and Playa Bastián.

Why We Love To Travel: As a young adult I was always too busy working to take vacations. My mindset was fixed on building a successful business and this was always justified by telling myself that I'd travel once I'd made my fortunes. By the time I was 30 years old I'd only been on two overseas vacations and did not think I was missing out. Roll forward to 2015, Bronte finally convinced me to book a stay at an all inclusive resort in Fuerteventura. It was an amazing experience and I was instantly bitten by the travel bug and now want to see loads of different places and travel as much as we can.
How frequently Do you Travel : As frequently as possible, currently around seven times per year. We have commitments at home meaning we need to fit our travel plans in around everyday life.
Why Are We Not On Camera: These videos are about the places, adventures, experiences and destinations. The videos are not about me / us - I'm not a TV presenter and I have absolutely not desire to be in front of the camera. Whilst not adverse to being on camera it's just not what our videos are about at the moment.
What's in our kitbag: Canon SX540, Canon SX510, various GoPro cameras including the Hero 3 and the Hero 4 Black plus a Nextbase Dashcam and Samsung and Apple cameraphones.
Our Favorite Places 2 Go Travel: Canary Islands, especially Lanzarote & Fuerteventura are big favourites with us because of the near year round sun and relaxing vibes.

The Lagomar Lanzarote Restaurant looks out across the lake that sits in the middle of the home, surrounded by incredible rock gardens and palm trees.
The story is that it was owned by the Doctor Zhivago actor Omar Sharif, for just a few months, before the home's original developer, San Benardy, won it from him in a bridge game. Spend a little time and we're sure you'll agree it could even be the most beautiful home in the world.

Teguise has is one of the top Costa Teguise day trips - not just for the Sunday Teguise market, but for the charm of the Teguise bars and restaurants to be found on almost every street.
Teguise is the former capital of Lanzarote, during the week it's a very peaceful town. But on Sunday it bustles as all the streets are filled with market stalls. Teguise Market is on every Sunday, 9.00-14.00.
Our winter walking tour of Teguise, Lanzarote (at Christmas) begins and ends in Plaza San Francisco by the 'Elegua' sculpture.
