I *kinda* Learned How to Surf!! Spot X and Yamba Australia Backpacking Vlog ✨
Living the stereotypical Ozzie life - I learned to surf in Spot X at a surf camp!! I adventured to Yamba, learned a few drinking games, got sunburnt and a lil ill. As I hope you can tell, I LOVE surfing, no matter how dire I was and how difficult it is! ????

Shoutout to Shane for being the coolest, most inspiring and chilled guy! I wasn't lying when I said I'd be back in Yamba some day. ????
In this vlog, we went to Newtown in Sydney, did the Bondi to Coogee walk and then got the overnight Greyhound bus to Spot X. The Mojo Surf camp was SO MUCH FUN. We learned the basics of surfing and complemented it with yoga in the afternoon. The social side of these camps (& being in the middle of nowhere with no phone signal!) is so fun and refreshing. We then headed to Yamba, where we did Shane's Tour, watched dolphins and sunsets, went cliff jumping and explored many many beaches.
If you watched this all, woah. I appreciate you so incredibly much! x

A short edit I threw together from my trip to Melbourne Beach. Sadly, the surf wasn't good at Sebastian Inlet (which was like 2 miles south) because of dredging a few years prior.
Thanks, enjoy and leave a like.

SwissTravelChannel is a YouTube channel of my holiday’s trips videos, taken all around the world since 2008. Some are for pure tourism and others are more of an adventure. The videos usually show the top best tourist attractions, the top things to do and top places to see. The goal is to inspire others on their next vacations. The videos can also be seen as a guide to have an idea of the main highlights and places to explore. I love to take pictures of the nature, traditions and different cultures, to search the must-see spots and show the essentials in my videos, for this reason I always try to create the perfect vacation. Traveling is more than a hobby for me, is a way of life.

BRISBANE (source Wikipedia):
Brisbane is the capital of and most populous city in the Australian state of Queensland, and the third most populous city in Australia. Brisbane's metropolitan area has a population of 2.4 million, and the South East Queensland region, centred on Brisbane, encompasses a population of more than 3.5 million. The Brisbane central business district stands on the original European settlement and is situated inside a bend of the Brisbane River, about 15 kilometres (9 miles) from its mouth at Moreton Bay. The metropolitan area extends in all directions along the floodplain of the Brisbane River Valley between Moreton Bay and the Great Dividing Range, sprawling across several of Australia's most populous local government areas (LGAs), most centrally the City of Brisbane, which is by far the most populous LGA in the nation. The demonym of Brisbane is Brisbanite.
One of the oldest cities in Australia, Brisbane was founded upon the ancient homelands of the indigenous Turrbal and Jagera peoples. Named after the Brisbane River on which it is located – which in turn was named after Scotsman Sir Thomas Brisbane, the Governor of New South Wales from 1821 to 1825 – the area was chosen as a place for secondary offenders from the Sydney Colony. A penal settlement was founded in 1824 at Redcliffe, 28 kilometres (17 mi) north of the central business district, but was soon abandoned and moved to North Quay in 1825, opening to free settlement in 1842. The city was marred by the Australian frontier wars between 1843 and 1855, and development was partly set back by the Great Fire of Brisbane, and the Great Brisbane Flood.
Today, Brisbane is well known for its distinct Queenslander architecture which forms much of the city's built heritage. It also receives attention for its damaging flood events, most notably in 1974 and 2011. The city is a popular tourist destination, serving as a gateway to the state of Queensland, particularly to the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast, popular resort areas immediately south and north of Brisbane, respectively. Several large cultural, international and sporting events have been held at Brisbane, including the 1982 Commonwealth Games, World Expo '88, the final Goodwill Games in 2001, and the 2014 G-20 summit. In 2016, the Globalization and World Cities Research Network ranked Brisbane as a Beta world city.
GOLD COAST (source Wikipedia):
The Gold Coast is a city in the Australian state of Queensland, approximately 66 kilometres (41 mi) south-southeast of the state capital Brisbane and immediately north of the border with New South Wales. With a census-estimated 2016 population of 638,090, the Gold Coast is the sixth-largest city in Australia, making it the largest non-capital city, and Queensland's second-largest city.
Today it is a major tourist destination with its sunny subtropical climate and has become widely known for its surfing beaches, high-rise dominated skyline, theme parks, nightlife, and rainforest hinterland.
Surfers take on huge waves. Bells Beach, Victoria. June 24th 2017. Music by Them Crooked Vultures.

'A vigorous polar front swept from southwest of Tasmania to Victoria’s central coast on Saturday, producing waves of more than three metres.' -Alex Sinnott, Geelong Advertiser
The models are, for the most part maintaining the forecast for a peak on Saturday morning, showing a 20 to 25ft deepwater SSW swell @ 17 seconds. The storm is already generating 40 to 50 knot SW winds across polar latitudes, below WA and this fetch is on course to travel northeast towards Bass Strait throughout Thursday, setting up a captured fetch of 40 to 50 knots.
However, consecutive model runs have shown a slight, but incremental downgrading in wave-potential; associated with an earlier than initially forecast weakening of the fetch, setting in from Thursday evening onwards. Note this slight downgrading is reflected in GFS, ACCESS and EC model runs. So it looks like wave-growth will cease around 600 or 700 nautical miles southwest of Bass Strait - and I think the resulting wave-decay is probably enough to cap the peak of the swell at about 8 to 10ft at Bells on Saturday morning. Further, EC runs are consistently forecasting wind-speeds a little below GFS - and this points to a further, albeit minor downgrading of wave-potential. - Ben Macartney

Surf Lakes | Australia's First Wave Pool
Watch Mark Occhilupo, Barton Lynch, Joel Parkinson, Ben Player and friends test the first waves produced at Surf Lakes, an artificial surf pool located in Yeppoon, Queensland, Australia.
The wave pool is only working at half capacity. Engineers believe that the system - named 5 Waves - will be able to produce ripples in the eight-foot range.
Surf Lakes claim that their technology has the lowest energy cost per wave compared to other wave pool concepts.
The company estimates that each wave will cost $2.50 to produce - $0.30 in energy and another $2.20 for the water filtration system and staff wages.
Each hour at the Australian Mad Max-style wave pool will cost around $50, allowing a surfer to ride approximately ten waves.
