Russia: Police release footage of ‘extremists’ arrested over foiled plot
Footage showing police arresting members of a banned extremist group that allegedly planned to attack police and set fire to government buildings was released on Tuesday.
Members of the radical movement Artpodgotovka, which means Artillery Bombardment in English, were detained by Moscow police on November 3.
Police discovered weapons and homemade explosive devices during the raids which resulted in 302 people being detained for public order offences and participating in an unauthorised rally.
The leader of group Vyacheslav Maltsev called on his supporters to participate in an unsanctioned rally on November 5th.
The group was categorised as a right-wing extremist organisation and banned by a court on October 26.

Russia: CCTV captures start of deadly attack on base in Chechnya
CCTV footage released on Friday shows four armed militants entering a Russian National Guard base in the village of Naurskaya, Thursday night.
The group of armed militants broke into the base at 02:30 local time (23:30 Thursday GMT), but were discovered by a group of National Guard service personnel. As a result of the attack, six National Guard soldiers were killed and three injured. Six militants were also killed in the assault.

Russia: Grozny knifeman injures 2 officers before being shot dead - IntMin

A man stabbed and injured a policeman and National Guard of Russia officer in the centre of Grozny, Sunday, according to the local Ministry of Internal Affairs. The incident reportedly took place after the suspect refused to show his driving licence after being stopped in his car.
Security forces afterwards shot the alleged perpetrator dead, according to the ministry. Social media footage shows what is reported to be the manhunt for the attacker following the stabbing. The sound of gunfire can be heard.
No civilians were reported injured.

Fun at a Russian bar
This is from July 18, when my friends and I had our first night out together since I came back from America. The bar we went to wasn't too far from Phil's (Philochko) house, so we went there to pre-game for 40 minutes or so. For all you guys in Novosibirsk, the bar is called Friends Cocktails Bar and it's downtown at 22 Krasny ave. I've been coming to that bar pretty much every weekend since July 18, because I really liked the service, the staff and the atmosphere there.
And a quick note about Phil, though, because I've been seeing weird comments about my friends and I being sexually involved with him - that's literally the third (and last) time I saw him in my life lol. First time here: Second time here: And all you guys spreading weird rumors about myself and Phil, haha, he has a girlfriend, first of all, and he is 10 years older than I am. I'm not stupid or easy like that, so please stop with the weird comments.

Russia: College students capture first moments after Blagoveshchensk shooting

Students of the Amur construction college of housing and utilities infrastructure filmed the first moments after shooting occurred in their school in Blagoveshchensk on Thursday.
A student of the college opened fire in a classroom, killing one person and injuring three others before turning the gun on himself.
According to Russian Investigative Committee, the 19-year-old male student had brought a legal hunting rifle with him to the college.
After police were alerted to the scene, they reportedly confronted the gunman and injured him in a brief shootout, before the student took his own life.
Local authorities have said the security at other schools and colleges will be increased in the wake of the deadly shooting.

Russian Blogger Jailed For Playing Pokemon Go In Church
A 22-year-old blogger was convinced Thursday in Russia for inciting religious hatred. His crime? Playing Pokemon Go in church and posting a video of it online. According to The New York Times, the blogger, Ruslan Sokolovsky, received a suspended sentence of three and a half years. He had been in detention since October. The two women in the band Pussy Riot were convicted of the same offense in 2012 and sent to prison. The judge in the case said Sokolovsky's video included denial of the existence of Jesus and the Prophet Muhammad and gave an offensive description of Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Russia: Police officer injured at embassy shooting in Moscow
An unknown man opened fire at two police officers outside the Cambodian embassy in Moscow on Thursday evening, according to Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
One officer, from the Regiment for the Protection of Diplomatic Missions of Russia in Moscow, was injured in the shooting shortly after 8 pm local time.
