Surrey House, Norwich
One of the most elegant and opulent Edwardian office buildings in Britain
Surrey House, the historic home of Aviva (formerly Norwich Union), is a spectacular piece of Edwardian architecture designed by George Skipper. He was commissioned by The Norwich Union Life Insurance Society's directors to produce a 'splendid yet functional office space', incorporating Greek influences and the themes of insurance, protection and wellbeing, to reassure policyholders of the company's strength and prosperity. The building has a commanding Palladian exterior and an interior adorned with 15 varieties of marble, classically inspired frescos and a stunning glass atrium. It also contains unusual items such as an 'air fountain' and a chiming skeleton clock made for the Great Exhibition of 1851.
Opening hours
This is a working building. Members of the public who visit between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, are usually able to look around the Marble Hall.
Prince of Denmark's March
The Prince of Denmark's March (Prins Jørgens March), Trumpet Voluntary is a piece written around the year 1700 by Jeremiah Clarke, though often misattributed to Henry Purcell. The piece has become popular under the arragements of Dr. William Spark (organ) and Sir Henry Wood (trumpet, string orchestra, organ). According to some sources, the piece was written in honour of Prince George of Denmark, husband of Queen Anne of Great Britain.

Places You Wouldn't Want To Live in The U.K.
When most people imagine the United Kingdom, they think of London, wry humor and polite people. It might seem unthinkable that Great Britain has some real dung piles among its treasures but these 5 cities will have you wondering why there is a “Great” in front of “Britain”.
At number 5. Sandwell
The available jobs in this West Midlands town are so poorly paid that the average resident has zero disposable income. The good news for locals is that Sandwell has a pretty high mortality rate, so they don’t have to suffer for very long.
At Number 4. Gwent Valleys
No matter which metric you choose to measure Gwent Valleys scores poorly. Crime? Check. Poor healthcare? Check. A-hole teenagers all around? Oh yeah. In a country that’s filled with coastline and rolling hills, Gwent Valleys has none of that. It’s just the worst.
At Number 3. High Wycombe
Petty crime and drug use are present; as is a low employment rate. The little money High Wycombe does have it spends on the schools which is great. Of course, that doesn’t do the average tourist any good.
At Number 2. Southampton
Southampton is simply filled with half-destroyed buildings blotting the landscape. To be fair, the place was bombed in World War II. That is a pretty solid excuse, but on the other hand, they’ve had the better part of eighty years to get the place back in order …
And at number 1. Morecambe
In the 1930s, luminaries like Coco Chanel used to hang out in Morecambe These days, Morecambe is more known for its dilapidation. The coastline outside the city is stunning, but if you’re being completely honest, coasts aren’t exactly a point of pride, and neither is Morecambe.
Where do you think the worst place in Great Britain is?

☆ Today we explore an abandoned house in Arundel, Sussex UK. The abandoned house was overlooked by many active houses opposite and we explore at night, which means our torches gave us away. To add to the suspense we arrive at the open window entry to the abandoned house to see that there is many signs of squatters being present as well as a run of bottle and cans of various alcohol, beers and vodka etc. We risked it and went inside but was not aware of the biggest shock of all, which was UPSTAIRS!

Sights of Norwich Part One
There are so many things to see and do in Norwich, so I made this just part one so I can add further things as we find or visit or see them. In this part we visit some places that are completely free apart from if you want to make a voluntary donation in the case of the church or cathedral. If you like your architecture and fine detail there is some here that is hard to beat, especially in the case of Surrey House, a marble temple the likes of which I've never seen before and we've travelled to a lot of countries. Music is once again from the Blue Box Studios archives dating from around 2002 to 2015. Some of the tracks picked for their irony such as 'Pennies In My Pocket' when you're looking at almost obscene riches of Surrey House. The detail picked out using powerful zoom show areas in all buildings that cannot be seen from an ordinary ground point of view show an unbelievable attention to detail in these buildings, almost always attributed not to the people whose statues are left but unknown craftsman who only occasionally leave their name somewhere high up in the roof where their employer wont find it. We're finding Norwich an amazing place.

Miniature Railways of Great Britain Norwich Model Engineering Society Eaton Park June 2018
We made it! Four railways and a steam museum in a day, travelling around Norfolk, very busy but great fun. This is the last video from series/holiday six,we hope you have enjoyed them.Roll on series seven but that might be a little later in the year due to my National Fuchsia showing.
We arrived at Eaton Park just in time to catch the last steam ride of the day.I was always told that children should be seen but not heard! That doesn't apply these days!
A very nice location in the very pretty park, loved the wild flower beds.
The train twists it's way around these beds.A nice long 7 1/4,5 gauge ride.
