Canada Remembrance Day Event 2016 ~ City of Surrey & Canada Military Museum and Education Centre
Welcome to Mieer Events and our coverage of the Canada Remembrance Day event in Surrey, BC, hosted by the City of Surrey and the Canada Military Museum and Education Centre. Come join us as we remember our veterans at this November 11, 2016 special event. Over 500 people attended the event with a BBQ lunch, military vehicles, Pinup Girls, and music provided by the Lounge Hounds out of Chilliwack, BC. We like to meet up with people and talk to them about what remembering this day means to them.
We also cover the Military History Museum exhibit and talk to volunteers / owners of military hardware and learn about guns and vehicles used by our veterans during wartime. The museum exhibit is ever changing and coming to a centre near you. Look them up at cmedcentre.ca for an updated schedule.

The Mean Streets of Surrey, BC
Cruising around the 'hood in Surrey, BC - my hometown... let me take you on a tour to the seedier part of the city. Surrey has a lot of beautiful areas, but it also has a dark reputation lately. However, the city is doing a good job cleaning things up in the downtown core - at a quick glance. Delve deeper into the streets, keep your eyes open, and the underlying issues become more apparent.
Disclaimer: in the video, I repeatedly use the term 'homeless' interchangeably with 'addict'; there is a distinction between those forced into the streets versus those who are there for the drugs. Studies have shown that most people in the Whalley 135A street area are into drugs. Local business owners have been under siege, syringes and refuse was to be found everywhere, and property crime was getting out of hand. Most were/are there for the drugs... and the crime follows.
