The Sun Temple is located in Borsad, Dist: Anand, State: Gujarat (India). City of Borsad is on the State Highway No: 6, about 40 KM away from Vadodara (Baroda), 90 KM from Ahmedabad, and 18 KM from Anand (the Milk City of Amul).
Construction of the Sun Temple (Surya Mandir) was completed in the year 1986.
The Sun Temple is being managed by Suryanarayan Sevashram Trust, Borsad, a trust formed and registered in the year 1976, by an eminent lawyer of Borsad shri Ramanbhai Mangalbhai Patel.
The Sun Temple was opened by Swami Shri Sachchidanand of Dantali and Justice Shri Indubhai C. Bhatt of Gujarat High Court, Ahmedabad. Water works was opened by Justice Shri B.C. Patel of Gujarat High Court, Ahmedabad and Shri Mahant Swami of Bochasan. Pathikashram of the Sun Temple was opened by Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court and Shri Ramsinh Parmar, State Minister of Transport, Gandhinagar, Gujarat State.
