Kolad is a village in Raigad district, Maharashtra State, India. It is 117 km from Mumbai on the National Highway no 17 (Mumbai-Goa). It lies on the banks of River Kundalika.

शिवनेरी दुर्ग या शिवनेरी किला, भारत के महाराष्ट्र राज्य के पुणे के जुन्नर गाव के पास स्थित एक ऐतिहासिक किला है.
शिवनेरी छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज का जन्मस्थान है.
जुन्नेर यह गाव इसवी सन पूर्व कल से प्रसिद्ध था. यह शक राजा नहपानीकी राजधानी थी. सातवाहन राजा गौतमीपुत्र सात्कारनी ने शक राजा का नाश करके यहाँ अपना वर्चस्व स्थापित किया. सातवाहन के बाद शिवनेरी किला चालुक्य व् राष्ट्रकुल सत्ता में गया.
सन ११७० से १३०८ तक यादव ने इस किले पे राज्य किया इस वजह से शिवनेरी को गढ़ का स्वरुप प्राप्त हुआ. इसके बाद सन १४४६ में मलिक उल तुजार इसने यादवोंका पराभूत करके यह किला हासिल किया. इसके बाद सन १४७० में मलिक उल तुजार इनका प्रतिनिधि मलिक महंमद ने किला नाकाबंदी करके फिरसे इस किलेको हाशिल किया. सन १४४६ में मलिक महंमद के पिता के मृत्यु के बाद निजामशाही स्थापन हुई. आगे चलते सन १४९३ में यहाकी राजधानी गढ़ पे से अहमदनगर को स्थलांतरित करवाया. सन १५६५ में सुल्तान मुर्तीजा निजाम ने अपने भाई कासिम को इस गढ़ में कैद किया था.
छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज के पिता शाहजी बीजापुर के सुल्तान आदिल शाह की सेना में एक सेनापति थे. सन १५९५ में किला मालोजी राजे भोसले इनके पास आया. राजमाता जिजाबाई के पिता जाधवराव इनकी हत्या के बाद लगातार हो रहे युद्ध के कारण शाहजी, अपनी गर्भवती पत्नी जिजाबाई की सुरक्षा को लेकर चिंतित थे, सन १६२९ को जिजाबाई गर्भवती थी तब शहाजीने ५०० सैनिको के साथ जिजाबाई को रातोरात शिवनेरी भेजा. शिवनेरी चारो ओर से खडी चट्टानों से घिरा एक अभेद्य गढ़ था.
शिवनेरी गढ़ पे श्रीभवानी शिवाई देवी को राजमाता जिजाबाई ने नवस माँगा था की मुझे पुत्र हुआ तो आपका ही नाम रखूंगी तो सन १९ फ़रवरी १६३० को राजमाता जिजाबाई ने एक पुत्र को जन्म दिया और उसका नाम शिवाजी रखा और उनका बचपन भी यही बिता.
शिवनेरी किला अपनी वास्तुकला की शैली और महान मराठा योद्धा छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज के जन्म स्थान के लिए प्रसिद्ध है. छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज ने सैन्य प्रशिक्षण भी यही प्राप्त किया. मुख्य किले में प्रवेश करने से पहले सात फाटकों को पार करने के विचार से पर्यटक अचंभित हो जाते है.
किले के मध्य में एक सरोवर स्थित है जिसे बादामी तालाब कहते है. इसी इसी सरोवर के दक्षिण में माता जिजाबाई और बाल शिवाजी महाराज की मुर्तिया स्थित है. किले में मीठे पानी के दो स्त्रोत है जिन्हें गंगा-जमुना कहते है और इनसे वर्षभर पानी की आपुर्तरी चालू रहती है.
किले के दो किलोमीटर की दुरी पर लेन्याद्री गुफाए स्थित है जहा अष्टाविनायक का का मंदिर बना है.
भारत सरकारने इस किले को सन २६ मे १९०९ को महाराष्ट्र मे के राष्ट्रिय संरक्षित स्मारक घोषित किया. इस किले का आकार भगवान शंकर के पिंड की तरह है.
Junner This village was famous for its pre-Islamic era. This doubt was the capital of King Nahapani. Satavahana King Gautamiputra Sattni destroyed the Shakha Raja and established his domination here. After Satavahana Shivneri fort went to Chalukya and Commonwealth power.
From 1170 to 1308, Yadav took over the fort, due to this, Shivneri received the form of the fort. After this, in 1446, Malik Ull Tuzar defeated the Yadavas and won the fort. After this, Malik-ul-Tujar, his representative, Malik Mohammed, in 1470, defeated the fort after the blockade of the fort. Nizam Shahi was established in 1446 after the death of Malik Mohammed's father. In the year 1493, after migrating Ahmednagar from the Yehaki capital, Garh Peeth. In 1565 Sultan Murtija Nizam imprisoned his brother Qasim in this fortress.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's father Shahaji was a general in the army of Adil Shah of Sultan of Bijapur. In 1595 the fort Maloji Raje Bhosale came to him. Jajabai's father, Jadhavra, was worried about the security of his pregnant wife Jijabai due to the continuous war following his murder; Jijabai was pregnant in 1629 when Shahaji sent Shivajiari along with 500 soldiers to Shivneri for overnight. Shivneri was an impenetrable stronghold surrounded by rocks standing around.
Rajmata Jijabai, on behalf of Shreebhani Shivai Devi, had demanded that if she had a son, she would have kept your name, then on 19th February 1630, Rajmata Jijabai gave birth to a son and named her Shivaji and her childhood also did the same.
Shivneri Fort is famous for its architectural style and the birth place of the great Maratha warrior, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj also received military training. Before entering the main fort, tourists are amazed at the idea of crossing seven gates.
A lake situated in the middle of the fort is called Badami Pond It is situated in the south of this lake which is the statue of Mother Jijabai and Bal Shivaji Maharaj. There are two sources of sweet water in the fort which are called Ganga-Jamuna and they have continued supply of water throughout the year.
The lenyadri cave is situated at a distance of two kilometers from the fort, where a temple of Ashtavinayak is built.
The Government of India declared this fort as National Protected Monument in Maharashtra on May 26, 1909. The size of this fort is like the body of God Shankar

पावसाळ्यात हा तलाव खूप भरतो. येथील रहिवाशी गणेश विसर्जन याच तलावात करतात. तसेच हा तलाव खूप फायदेशीर आहे येथील रहिवाश्यांना. पाणी जाण्यास कुठलाच मार्ग नसल्याने हा तलाव हिरवळ असतो.

Kolad River Rafting August 2018 With THE WESTERN TREKKERS
River Kundalika is fed by the excess water from Tata Power's Mulshi Dam Project on to a series of hydroelectric projects and dams, including Ravalje followed by Bhira and then Dholvan, where the water is released in the morning typically at 6am. The gush of the water reaches Sutarwadi at 7:30am and water rises at Kolad at 10:00am.
Adventure lovers have found a unique way of enjoying the release of the dam water. Capitalising on the location near Mumbai, with its virtually unending source of adventure lovers, rafting is conducted on the river using the rapids generated by the rushing water released from the dam. Rafting of grade II and III can also be experienced over a 14 km circuit and can be enjoyed all day in the monsoon, or to coincide with the timing of the release of water from the dam during other times of the year. Rafting here is sometimes unavailable in the peak of summer, when the water becomes scarce.
