First pylon in place for Shanghai-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge
The Shanghai-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge, currently under construction, is designed for both rail and highway traffic. It has the largest span in the world at 1,092 meters, as well as the tallest pylons at 325 meters. The pylons are being constructed in one of the biggest and deepest (115 meters) coffer dams ever built. A key project in China's eight vertical and eight horizontal high-speed rail network, the bridge will be connecting the cities of Nantong and Suzhou when it's completed next year.

SUTONG BRIDGE
Sutong Bridge has a main span of 1,088 meters. The bridge crosses the Yangtze River and connects the cities of Suzhou and Nantong in China.The bridge’s two towers are inverted Y-shaped reinforced concrete structures. The deck of the bridge is a steel box girder and with of the deck is 41 meters. The bridge’s two pylon foundations are 300 meters tall and each has 131 piles in its foundation.,

Jiangsu province has a new bridge. The Sutong Bridge is the world's longest span cable-stayed bridge.
The 32 kilometer span was opened today and crosses the Chengong watercourse of the Yangtze River. It lies between Nantong City and Changshu.
The all-China project is a six-lane expressway designed for maximum speeds of 100 kilometers per hour. The bridge will cut travel times from Shanghai to Nantong from four hours to one hour. The bridge also has world's highest bridge tower.
