Suwon to Seoul Ko-Rail Train after visiting Suwon HWASEONG
Today, we visited Suwon HWASEONG! Earlier in the day, we took a hike around the city walls, and it was a very good walk. Now, we head back to Seoul Central. Instead of the subway, we decided to try Ko-Rail, which would halve the journey time. Buying the tickets at Suwon station was quite easy, the counter staff understood English and could tell me what time the trains were coming.

Exploring Suwon's Hwaseong Fortress in South Korea | Adventure Strong
Suwon, South Korea is best known for its UNESCO World Heritage site - Hwaseong Fortress. The wall and palace were built in the late 1700s for the King.
At the fortress you can visit the palace which requires an extra fee (about 2,000 won). Walking the wall is only 1000 won (less than $1) and is worth it. When you reach the top of the fortress, you'll come to the Bell of Felial Piety. You can ring this giant bell for 1500 won. Every year there is a large parade that goes through the fortress and they also have frequent performances.

Adventure in South Korea: Suwon World Cup Stadium and more (Episode 5)
We went to see a football match at the World Cup Stadium in Suwon. It was the Asian Champions League and they were playing a group match against Melbourne Victory. It ended 1-1. It was really cool to be there. Even though there were not many supporters, the atmosphere was good. Then Charlotte came to see me and we visited some places like the Gyeongbokgung Palace.

: It was a performance worthy of recommending to anyone. The best part was that it was entirely free. I'm hoping to go back again sometime this year.
Suwon, about 45 minutes south of Seoul, is home to a unique group of martial artists.
These men and women are keeping alive a set of skills used to teach South Korean warriors fighting. Created hundreds of years ago by studying the strengths and weaknesses of other martial arts, these arts are divided into unarmed, armed and horse-mounted styles.
At the daily demonstration only the armed and unarmed styles are performed. The horse-mounted styles are saved for special occasions like the October citizen's festival.
The performers come from all walks of life, from South Korean history scholars to ex Olympic alternates to local high school students. They train and perform six days a week, and sacrifice a lot to preserve this part of South Korean culture.
During the Suwon Citizen's festival in October, the martial artists get a chance to display the horse martial arts and reenact a night assault on the Hwaseong fortress. Every year a lot of thought goes into making this event special and unique. Fireworks and hundreds of re-enactors take the guise of Japanese soldiers and samurai.
The performance in Suwon has become so popular that they have started a performance in Seoul at Namsan Tower. This performance is different in that it is more court based and flows more like a dance, while the one in Suwon is more military based.
They perform every day except Mondays at 11 a.m. from March to December at Hwaseong Haegung in Suwon. The performance is free. Another group performs at Namsan Tower in Seoul every day except Monday at 3 p.m.
Performances of 24 Martial Arts
This 24 Martial Arts Demonstration was best arranged systematically in the age of King Jeongjo as national traditional martial arts. Recorded on the Martial Arts Training Textbook as made by accepting both the martial arts from Joseon Dynasty and the excellent martial arts from China and Japan, it will make spectators feel cool.
Period : Mar. ~ Dec. 2009,
※Dec. ⇒ weekend performance
Tuesday ~ Sunday 11:00a.m.
(Except for Monday)
Place : Hwaseong Haenggung
Inquiry : Suwon Hwaseong Management Foundation TEL / 031-251-4435
What are the 24 Martial Arts?
24 Martial Arts mean those recorded on the Martial Arts Training Textbook as compiled by Lee Deok-mu and Park Je-ga, realists who received orders from King Jeongjo, and Baek Dong-su, a master of martial arts in 1790. The Martial Arts Training Textbook was made by accepting both the martial arts from Joseon Dynasty and the excellent martial arts from China and Japan. As practiced by the soldiers of Jang Yong Yeong, the picked force of the then Joseon Dynasty stationed in Hwaseong, they have high historic, artistic and athletic value as immaterial cultural properties.

4k Video / South Korea / Suwon - Gwanghyo - Lake park / Relax,Study,Sleep,People,ASMR
Hello everyone.
Today we introduce Gwanghyo Lake Park in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.
- Prior to the establishment of the lake park, the original reservoir for supplying agricultural water and the new reservoir were completely separate reservoirs. Most of the area was close to the quiet countryside of the suburbs, because the surrounding area was at most a source amusement park near the source reservoir. However, after the plan to construct Gwanggyo New Town was announced, a plan to build a large park called 'Amuse Park' was established by linking the two lakes. In 2008, the park was opened and opened in 2013, resulting in a large and beautiful lake park.
The park area is quite large because there are two lakes as described above. As a result, it boasts an enormous area equivalent to 1.7 times the size of Ilsan Lake Park, and the facilities in the park are large and beautiful. Unlike other lake parks that have been artificially created from the beginning, the forests are lush and scenic because they are preserved as much as possible while preserving the original lakes and forests. The park itself has a well-lit plaza and lush lawns because the Yongin Seoul Expressway was built through the underground lake park.
The original name at the time of construction was the name of the amusement park. However, as soon as it became known as the Gwangyo Lake Park which is easy to call in the media, it became official name at any moment
