Migratory birds flock to wetland in east China

Over one million migratory birds including common crane, Siberian white crane, and greylag goose, have flocked to the Yellow River Delta Wetland for wintering grounds in Dongying City, east China's Shandong Province. The wetland, which hosts six million birds every year, is a key habitat for migratory birds to rest and reproduce on their journey toward the south.

Here is Where Swans Go For the Winter

More than 400 whooper swans have over the past week flown to a nature reserve in eastern China to spend the winter.

Located in the easternmost end of Shandong Province, the food-rich and largely undisturbed Rongcheng National Nature Reserve provides a winter sanctuary for swans and many other migrant bird species.

As many as 10,000 swans, together with tens of thousands of wild ducks, geese, and other birds, stay at the nature reserve from November to April.

The swans spend the daytime foraging and frolicking in estuaries or shallow shores of the reserve. At night, they gather to rest in inland fields in large flocks.

The reserve management team in Rongcheng provides at least 100 tons of corn for the swans every year.

The birds also have attracted wildlife lovers from across the country.

Temple at Shidao

Shidao Chishan famous scenic site is located in the east end of Shaidong peninsula and China First Charm City—Rongcheng Shidao area coveing 12.8 sq.km. The mountain is famous for its red stone and Hero, Buddhist, Sea charm and Holy Realm with mountain connecting sea. There are ten large scenic sites such as Fahuayuan, the Seventh Heaven Bodhisattva, Chishan Buddhist yard, Fahua tower, Daming Holy realm(Chishan Mingshen), Zhang Baogao biography house, Rongcheng folk-custom house, folk art gallery, Tianmentan park and Tianhoy palace and forty-eight scenic spots in the site. Fahuayuan is the one and only Buddhism fane in Weihai, which was built originally in four of Tang Muzong (824year) by Xinluo people (now is Korean) Zhang Baogao in Tang Dynasty.
