Perth, Australia - Seaplane on the Swan River (Harbour Air)
In the late 1990s, my parents tried to start commercial seaplane operations on the Swan River (out of Barrack Street Jetty). The biggest factor prohibiting them was the Swan River Trust, who would come up with the most unbelievable reasons why they shouldn't be allowed to operate on the Swan River. One of the craziest excuses was It's busier than Sydney Harbour, so they sat by the river for a week tallying all movements (totalling 600).
This clip was taken on one of the flights to test the noise levels quality and how it would affect the surrounding environment.
As we now know, the Swan River Trust was merged into the Department of Parks & Wildlife. Since then there are now 2 seaplane operators on the Swan River - Red Barron Seaplanes & Swan River Seaplanes.

I recorded it while' live' on Facebook not knowing in the moment that it was a crash or splashy landing on Swan River . Later came to know that Pilot and his Passenger ( girlfriend ) died in the accident. ???????? Rip - May god bless the souls ????????

Plane crashes into Perths Swan River Australia
Two people have been killed after a seaplane attempting to land on Perth's Swan River lost power and crashed in front of thousands of Australia Day revellers gathered for the city's fireworks display. Video shows the plane attempting to make a turn above the water before losing altitude and plunging into the river as stunned party-goers, including children, watch on. A City of Perth spokesman said the fireworks display has been cancelled as a result of the tragedy.

The dramatic moment a small plane crashed into the Swan River near Heirisson Island, Perth was captured on a live video on Thursday at around 17:00 local time.
Footage shows the plane nosedive into the water where it instantly broke apart. Both the pilot and the passenger on board died.
The Australia Day Skyworks display which was due to take place that evening was cancelled after the incident.

A tragic aircrash in Perth Swan River Australia on Australia Day.
Water Police have confirmed the plane, a Grumman G-73 Mallard flying boat, crashed into the water about 5:00pm on Thursday evening.
The pilot and passenger were confirmed dead a short time later. It is reported that the pair are a husband and wife.
Onlookers said the plane, believed to be a fixed-wing stunt plane, was following a water plane south along the river before it banked stalled and nosedived into the river, where it broke into two pieces.
R.I.P & condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.

City of Perth said the event has been cancelled as a result of the deaths.
Two people have died after a seaplane plunged into a river in central Perth in front of thousands of shocked Australia Day revellers.
The plane appears to have been trying to land on the Swan River at around 5pm when the manoeuvre went horribly wrong.
The accident happened in the same area where 300,000 people were expected to gather for the city's Australia Day fireworks, which have now been cancelled.

Plane crashes straight to Swan River on Australia Day
TWO people killed in a plane crash in Perth’s Swan River on Australia Day have been identified as pilot Peter Lynch, 52, and his Indonesian-born partner Endah Cakrawati, 30, police have confirmed.
According to flight tracking websites, the aircraft left Serpentine airfield about 4.30pm local time and was due to arrive over the Swan River about 30 minutes later.
At the South Perth foreshore, families setting up for the Skyworks rushed to the river’s edge as the plane crashed into the water.
“As it hit the water you could see the plane break into two.”
It’s believed it was part of an airshow over the river ahead of Perth’s annual Skyworks fireworks display which was cancelled out of respect for the victims.
A huge plume of water could be seen as the plane hit the surface nose first.
For reasons yet unknown, it’s entered the waterway, thankfully without injuring anyone else on the ground or any other people who are here at the event.
