Travel to South Africa: My visit to the Hare Krishna Temple in Durban pt.1
During my time in South Africa, I stopped at the beautiful Hare Krishna temple right outside of Durban. Here there were many people who decided to just stop by for a quick lunch as well as many spiritual aspirants who were living at the temple.
In this video I interview two young man who are following the Hare Krishna tradition.

The safari nightmare - what you want to avoid
When I was researching and preparing to book my safari, this was the nightmare I wanted to avoid. We'd brushed up against a similar experience in Botswana a few years previously where the vehicles were so busy jockeying for a view of a few napping lions that they nearly ran over them.
Luckily, my research paid off, and in the 9 days of safari this was one of perhaps 2 times where we ran into the full on safari-vehicle caravan/nightmare.
Because we had the time and had already spent hours with other lions in the park we split off right away. What you're seeing is the caravan of safari vehicles that had previously gathered to view a nearby lion pride. We saw the cubs, looked at the 15+ vehicles around us, and split of to search more - all of which took about 5 minutes. Shortly there after, about 5 minutes additional drive down the road we spotted a leopard who had just left his tree and was marking his territory.
Eventually, after tracking the Leopard for a while we called it in and most of the trucks from the nearby lions descended. We split off shortly there after, but not before watching the leopard chase off a hyena.
Most of the other trucks stayed, trying to spot the leopard and tracking the lions. Meanwhile we set off on our own, spotted three more large males and continued a lovely private drive in near solitude in more remote areas of the park.
The scene in this video is what happens when you don't have the time, or a driver, willing to go in search of animals. My guide at Fed Safaris (fedsafaris.com) was fantastic and knew exactly where to go and how to avoid this type of traffic jam.
