This is probably my favorite city to visit in Switzerland.... there's so much to see and explore. This is my third time visiting and I would gladly visit again.
I had visited on my way back from visiting friends in France right outside the Swiss border. Wanted to make the most of my trip back home to Graubünden :)

Model Trains Gotthardbahn Modellanlage | Verkehrshaus der Schweiz Luzern | Swiss Museum of Transport
Model trains on the Gotthard model railway in the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne. This H0 - Gotthard model railway was built in 2007 and every day a maximum of 16 trains run every hour through the beautiful landscape which shows the North portal of the Gotthard, between Erstfeld and Göschenen. You’ll see the locomotive depot of Erstfeld, the tunnels and the famous church of Wassen.

Diese H0-Gotthard-Modellbahn wurde 2007 gebaut und täglich fahren stündlich maximal 16 Züge durch die wunderschöne Landschaft, die das Nordportal des Gotthards zwischen Erstfeld, Wassen und Göschenen zeigt. Zu sehen sind das lokdepot von Erstfeld, die kehrtunnel und die berühmte Wassener Kirche.
Modeltrein op de Gotthard modelspoorbaan in het Zwitserse Verkehrshaus Museum in Luzern. The Swiss Transport Museum or Verkehrshaus der Schweiz, in Lucerne, is a museum, opened in July 1959 and exhibiting all forms of transport (including locomotives, automobiles, ships, and aircraft) as well as communications. It is Switzerland's most popular museum.
The museum also maintains a large collection of work by Hans Erni, a local painter and sculptor.
The museum is located on the shore of Lake Lucerne in the northern section of the city of Lucerne, some 30 minutes on foot from the city centre.
It is served by trains of the Lucerne S-Bahn at the adjacent Lucerne Verkehrshaus railway station, by boat services of the Schifffahrtsgesellschaft des Vierwaldstättersees on the lake, and by the Lucerne trolleybus system. All three provide convenient connections with central Lucerne.
