A Taxing Woman's Return, (Japanese title マルサの女2, Marusa no onna 2) is a 1988 Japanese comedy film written and directed by Juzo Itami. It is the sequel to Itami's 1987 comedy A Taxing Woman. Samurai Training in Japan
After we went for our special soba, we went over to Samurai City and trained in a dojo for a couple of hours. It was very profound and special, and we wanted to share that with you.
We couldn't share everything we thought and felt in this video. We wrote more in our blog post. Check it out here for more of the story:

Kabuki: The people's dramatic art - Amanda Mattes
View full lesson:
The Japanese dance and theater art of kabuki, derived from the word kabuku, meaning out of the ordinary, can be traced back to the streets of seventeenth-century Kyoto. Kabuki became a dramatic art for the common people, with its use of makeup and facial expressions rather than masks, as well as a playful take on current events. Amanda Mattes tracks the evolution of kabuki and its place in Japan's rich cultural heritage.
Lesson by Amanda Mattes, animation by Tom Gran.
Bakeneko
The bakeneko is a type of Japanese yōkai, or supernatural creature. According to its name, it is a cat that has changed into a yōkai. It is often confused with the nekomata, another cat-like yōkai, and the distinction between the two can often be quite ambiguous.
There are legends of bakeneko in various parts of Japan, but the tale of the Nabeshima Bakeneko Disturbance in Saga Prefecture is especially famous.

NIOH PLAYABLE DEMO OUT FOR PS4
Share. Publisher Tecmo Koei is giving PS4 owners until May 6 to try out its dark, samurai action RPG.
BY JOSE OTERO Publisher Tecmo Koei announced a playable alpha demo of Nioh, the anticipated samurai action RPG coming exclusively to PS4, is available now on the European PlayStation Network. The demo will be available in the US tomorrow.
Tecmo Koei says that all players who complete one stage of the demo will be rewarded with exclusive launch content for Nioh via PSN, called The Mark of the Conqueror DLC. A representative for Tecmo Koei told IGN there are no plans at this time to make this DLC available to those who miss out on the demo.
Nioh’s demo is only available from April 26 until May 5. Much like From Software’s Dark Souls 3 Stress Test, it cannot be accessed once the alpha test ends. The demo includes two areas (a ruined fishing village called Usuki and an ancient region called Dazaifu overrun by demonic beings) and three weapon types (A katana, spear, and an axe).
Nioh is developed by Team Ninja under the direction of Kou Shibusawa and Hisashi Koinuma. It was revealed at Tokyo Game Show 2015.
Those who remember the 2005 Electronic Entertainment Expo will recall the hype behind this historical action adventure; in preparation for it's canceled PS3 2006 release, a pre-rendered CG trailer showed Ni-Oh as a game about a blond-haired samurai - the offspring of a Western Woman and Japanese Lord set during the Warring States Era of Japan - and was based on an unfinished script of renowned Japanese film auteur, Akira Kurosawa.
Over a decade later, the finalized form of Nioh is now a difficult and dark samurai action game inspired by the original with supernatural elements designed specifically to incite trial and error; based on the reveal trailer and this description, one can almost say this is Samurai Dark Souls, Akira Kurosawa style!
Of course, with the history of Team Ninja's contemporary approach on Ninja Gaiden, it would be safe to expect an exquisite combat mechanic. Details revealed so far explain a 3-stance attack system - low, neutral, and high; a high stance reserved for power attacks and low stance for defense. As well, weapons will have their own traits and can be switched in real-time and actions will be limited to a stamina meter lending to a careful tactics in battle.
Similar to Souls, like bonfires, Shrines will be placed along the journey, where 2 activities take place, the first being a level-up point, and the second is the replenishment of guardian spirits. Guardian spirits are a resource that drop from fallen foes, and is directly related to the means to cast and perform various special attacks - using these techniques will be at a cost of these spirits, so another element of strategy comes into play.
There is also an asynchronous online component where sword markers of fallen players serve to warn other players of high difficulty areas, and insofar, Nioh will be apparently littered with these sword markers, as is the intention of Team Ninja.
If anything, knowing that all the elements are finally coming together is a welcomed addition to the gaming universe; although there is only a 2016 tba. release date, based on what's been shown so far, Nioh is a new IP that gamers might have forgot about, but will definitely remember as it nears release!

[Trailer] The Ancient Dogoo Girl (Movie Version)
*See my Channel for more independent, cult, foreign, animation and genre flicks*
The series stars 20-year-old photo model Erika Yazawa - whose model assets are clearly visible on her chest - as Dogu-chan, a yokai (goblin, monster) hunting warrior from Japan's ancient Jomon era who is resurrected in modern times due to a bumbling archaeologist (Takaya Kamikawa) and his shut-in son Makoto (Masataka Kubota). She joins Makoto and two of his high-school friends in not only trying to blend in (poorly), but also, with the help of her animated Dogoo statuette companion Dokigoro, in sniffing our and destroying yokai that have begun to surface in the modern age.
The tone is very Iguchi - sexy and a little bit dirty, but definitely aimed at an audience of all ages. It's equal parts comedy and action, with lots of fish-out-of-water jokes featuring Dogu-chan trying to fit into the modern world - and abusing Makoto, who's obviously in love with her - mixed with some surprisingly effective drama and horror moments.
Iguchi directed four of the episodes, three of which make up most of his part of the Movie Version. Other directors on the series include Takashi Shimizu, who directed one episode that stars Iguchi as a crab- monster yokai, plus newcomers Keisuke Toyoshima and Takuma Tosaka. Toyoshima has directed segments in other omnibus films, like GHOST VS. ALIEN, TALES OF TERROR FROM TOKYO, UNHOLY WOMEN, and TEN NIGHTS OF DREAMS. Tosaka is a producer on the DOGOO GIRL TV series.
The Movie Version incorporates Iguchi's opening and closing episodes, with selected bits (and yokai) from other episodes, with new linking segments featuring Dogu-chan, as well as some additional fake commercials, a la TOKYO GORE POLICE, starring actors from the series.
The biggest addition to the Movie Version is the final 1/3, which is a brand-new pilot episode directed by Yoshihiro Nishimura and starring Asami (ROBO-GEISHA) as a phantom Dogu-chan who comes to the modern day and wreaks gory havoc. It's a splatter comedy, of course, and co- stars many of Nishimura's regulars, including Yuya Ishikawa (who plays Asami's husband in MACHINE GIRL), Tsugumi Nagasawa (Crocodile Girl from TOKYO GORE POLICE, and also the star of Nishimura's forthcoming spinoff short to VAMPIRE GIRL VS. FRANKENSTEIN GIRL), Cay Izumi (Dog Girl from TOKYO GORE POLICE, and the pole-dancing Tengu from ROBO- GEISHA), Yukihide Benny (the penis-gun cop from TOKYO GORE POLICE), and many other familiar faces.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Kanji (漢字; [kã̠ɴʑi] listen) are the adopted logographic Chinese characters that are used in the Japanese writing system. They are used alongside the Japanese syllabic scripts hiragana and katakana. The Japanese term kanji for the Chinese characters literally means Han characters. It is written with the same characters in the Chinese language to refer to the character writing system, hànzì (漢字).

SUMMARY
=======
Kanji (漢字, pronounced [kaɲdʑi] (listen)) are the adopted logographic Chinese characters that are used in the Japanese writing system. They are used alongside the Japanese syllabic scripts hiragana and katakana. The Japanese term kanji for the Chinese characters literally means Han characters. It is written with the same characters in Traditional Chinese to refer to the character writing system, hanzi (漢字).
