Take 3 x Ocean Alliance Clean Up of Sydney Harbour with volunteers from the superyacht industry
Take 3 recently teamed up with Ocean Alliance and members of the super yacht community for a clean up of Sydney Harbour. This video shows the results from 30 dedicated people spending one hour cleaning less than 300m of beaches on Sydney Harbour.
This plastic waste is OUR plastic waste. Most of this debris would have originated in the streets and suburbs of the Sydney Harbour catchment and made it's way into the ocean because WE allowed it to. The ocean is downhill from everywhere.
Remember, you can make a difference every day by simply picking up a few pieces of rubbish from the street, park, beach or...anywhere. You can also reduce your plastic footprint by avoiding unnecessary disposable products. Pick it up. Bin it. #take3forthesea
A big thank you to the team at Ocean Alliance (oceanalliance.com) who work closely with the super yacht community and are passionate about keeping plastic out of our waterways. Also a big thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who made this a very special day. And also, to Fabreezy for the great video.
Take 3 are available for corporate clean ups and educational activities, head to our website for more information, merchandise or to contact us: take3.org

BEAT THE BOTTLE MANLY COVE with Miss Earth Australia - Clean Up Feb 2019
Sure, Manly Cove looks pretty clean at a glance BUT, HOW MUCH RUBBISH IS HIDING IN THE BUSHES AND BETWEEN ROCKS? Watch my footage from yesterday's Beat The Bottle Event to see how much only 4 people can collect in 45 mins!
On the 10th February 2019, Miss Earth Australia Water 2018/2019 Candidate, Susana Downes and I attended the Beat the Bottle event at Manly Cove. Beat the Bottle is an initiative by Sydney Water with volunteers from Plastic Free Manly ????
I love waking up in the morning with a sense of purpose. Beach clean ups prevent as much litter as possible from reaching the ocean. It was sad to see 'hot spot' areas where we found 80 ciggies behind the old aquarium and in ONE BUSH up the top near the rocks we found 27 bottles. This is NOT OK.
Thank you to everyone who participated today, you should all feel rewarded that you have made the world a greener place ✔️
Abandoned house in Balmain, Sydney
While in Sydney, I spent a fair bit of time walking around the back street, exploring and looking for trash piles. I spotted this abandoned house, which appeared to mostly be empty. I wanted to explore, but there was some portable fencing around it, in full view of the neighbours. I didn't want to risk getting seen!

#Cairns is a small port city with access to a bounty of natural beauty. This eastern Australia city is where the rainforest meets the reef, with Daintree Rainforest to the north and the Great Barrier Reef to the east.
Start your #vacation in Cairns with some of the open parklands in the city center or by going for a short swim in the man-made lagoon. Rent a bike on the promenade or hit the waves at Trinity Beach for a surf. A trip on the Skyrail® Rainforest Cableway is Cairns #sightseeing at its best. The cable car will take you over the canopy of tropical rainforest and waterfalls.
At Hartleys Crocodile Adventures take a boat ride through a swamp-like habitat where several of the reptiles live. Cairns tours should always include a stop to the Cairns Tropical Zoo, where you can make some kangaroo and koala friends.

The New Gladesville Bridge (1967)
Construction of the Gladesville Bridge, built across the Parramatta River, was a much needed upgrade to the original narrow two-lane 80 year-old steel bridge there originally. The increasing traffic volume called for additional crossing over Sydney’s waterways, other than The Sydney Harbour Bridge. Construction was completed in 1962, and was at the time, the world’s longest concrete arch. The bridge also marked the beginning of the story of Sydney’s north-western expressway constructed north-wards toward Newcastle. The bridge was opened on 2 October 1964 by Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent. This video shows the highlights of the bridge construction.
