The Sydney International Regatta Centre, located in Penrith, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, is a rowing and canoe sprint venue built for the 2000 Summer Olympics. It is now a popular sporting venue, with the Head of the River Regatta held annually here.
Defqon.1 Weekend Festival Australia is also held here; as a newly established and reasonably popular hard dance music event Defqon.1 Festival requires a large venue which is somewhat removed from residences, making the Regatta Centre an ideal location.
In May 2012 the second round of the UIM world powerboat championships for Blown Alcohol and 6 Litre boats was held here over 3 days and will return in 2013
It is part of the Penrith Lakes.
The site is managed by NSW Sport and Recreation.

Rowing Down Under - Sydney International Regatta

Australia will be hosting the opening round of the Samsung World Rowing Cup in 2013 and 2014 at the Sydney International Regatta Centre. This prestigious event will be hosted in conjunction with the Australian Rowing Championships and Interstate Regatta from 18th to 24th March, 2013.

Somerset College Rowing at the 2017 Sydney International Rowing Championships held in Penrith, NSW.

Rest in Peace my faithful GoPro Hero 3, you will forever be missed and may you lay at rest, at the cold, deep base of Penrith Lakes. It was a sudden, and unforeseen circumstance that lead to your demise, whatever the cause of your fatality, an incorrect attachment or faulty floatation device, it appears you were lost, doing what you loved. As you sank, tears were shred as we reflect on you reliability of these past couple of years. We all thank you for the endless hours of memories you have captured as well as the bleeding noses and severe headaches caused by the attempt to bring you back into our world. We also recognise your service to the rowing community and other great footage you have captured for the enjoyment of others. You will forever be missed however easily replaced by a much newer and improved version of yourself.
