Sydney Tramway Museum - Loftus NSW
Take a step back in time at the Sydney Tramway Museum, a great day out for the whole family. It is a unique attraction in the Sutherland Shire for over 50 years, located at Loftus right next to the railway station and entirely run by volunteers. Sydney’s Trams were an important part of everyday life for over 80 years until 1961. You can experience them at the museum which houses a wide selection of Sydney Trams, plus an interstate collection of trams from Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Ballarat, and Bendigo, as well as trams from overseas including San Francisco, Nagasaki, Munich, Milan and Berlin.

Sydney Tramway Museum – Streetcars in Sydney, Australia
This video shows footage from the Sydney Tramway Museum, officially called the South Pacific Electric Railway (SPER).
SPER preserves and operates a great collection of trams and streetcars from all over the world. These include trams from Sydney's former tram network, the San Francisco Municipal Railway, Brisbane, Melbourne, Bendigo, Ballarat and Munich.
Along the network they operate are three railway crossings. Two minor crossings exist on the Sutherland line, which have X-shaped crossing signs but no bells or lights. Another crossing exists on the Royal National Park Line, which cuts right through the Princes Highway. Trams cut off traffic here.

Sydney Tramway Museum Part 1. - Sydney Straßenbahnmuseum 1. Teil
Igazi, működő múzeum, ahol csupa önkéntes dolgozik, nem csak tujákat vezetnek, hanem felújítanak is a műhelyben. The Sydney Tramway Museum is an operating tramway museum, located in Loftus in the southern suburbs of Sydney, Australia. Sydney. There are two tram lines from the museum used to run tram rides for museum visitors. One line runs 1.5 km north almost to Sutherland railway station, paralleling a suburban highway in a way typical of Sydney's previous tram system. The second utilises a former railway branch off CityRail's Illawarra railway line to penetrate 2 km into the Royal National Park that flanks Sydney's southern boundary. The Sydney Tramway museum is run entirely by volunteers and self funds its day to day activities, restorations and construction programs from gate takings and donations from the public.

Variotram 2107 moves under its own power at Loftus
2107 moves under its own power for the first time at Loftus. A few sparks from dirty track and wheels but once it gets rolling it's all good.
The tram had not been under power for about 3 1/2 years but is still operational. This meant it could be driven to depot instead of being towed.

Fourth Visit To Sydney Tramway Museum Plus Behind-The-Driver View - Dulwych Hill To Central Station
Here it is, my fourth visit to the Sydney Tramway Museum. I was there on Wednesday, 20th November, last and spent a couple of hours there. One of the trams encountered problems before they got to use it, plus trackwork prevented us riding all the way to the Sutherland terminus. After returning to Sydney Central Station, I then took a ride on Sydney's modern tramway from Central out to Dulwych Hill and return. The video of the outward journey wasn't the best I could hope for, so I limited the video to the return leg. In relation to this COPPA law, My videos are not made for children, and if any children do appear in my videos, they're there by chance and not design.
As always, if you like this video, give it a thumbs-up and subscriptions are always welcome.
