Sydney: Great day trips
There are some great day drives just across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. If you prefer the scenic route, explore Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, or for an easy sea change, it's a short drive to the Northern Beaches. Feeling adventurous? Put the car on the ferry at Wisemans Ferry and cross the Hawkesbury River on your way to the historic town of St Albans.

Wild Life Sydney, Darling Harbour
Wild Life Sydney Zoo (formerly Sydney Wildlife World) is a wildlife park in the heart of the city of Sydney, Australia. Officially opened in September 2006, it is located on the city side of the Darling Harbour leisure and retail precinct, next to Sydney Aquarium and Madame Tussauds Sydney.
In May 2006, Sydney Aquarium Pty Ltd announced plans to expand the existing aquarium site, in order to incorporate a wildlife park. Following this announcement, and after the acquisition of the tourist attractions at Sydney Tower and of Manly Oceanarium, Sydney Aquarium Pty Ltd changed its name to Sydney Attractions Group. Village Roadshow Limited purchased Sydney Attractions Group in late 2007. UK attractions group Merlin Entertainments bought Sydney Wildlife World as part of its acquisition of Village Roadshow assets in March 2011.
The park changed its name to Wild Life Sydney Zoo (trademarked as Wild Life Sydney) and re-opened on 13 September 2011.
The attraction won the Award for the best family-focused tourism at The Australian's 2007 Travel and Tourism Awards.

Featherdale Wildlife Park - Sydney - Australia
Our visit to Featherdale was part of a day long coach tour to the Blue Mountains, if you don't have much time, but want to see something of the area; this is a good way to get around. Featherdale is a great place to stop and pet Native Australian animals, well worth a visit.

City Description:
Sydney, capital of New South Wales and one of Australia's largest cities, is best known for its harbourfront Sydney Opera House, with a distinctive sail-like design. Massive Darling Harbour and the smaller Circular Quay port are hubs of waterside life, with the arched Harbour Bridge and esteemed Royal Botanic Garden nearby. Sydney Tower’s outdoor platform, the Skywalk, offers 360-degree views of the city and suburbs.Sydney Aquarium, Taronga Zoo and Wildlife Sydney Zoo shelter animals like koalas, kangaroos, sharks and snakes. Pyrmont’s Sydney Fish Market has a working seafood auction and restaurants serving the day’s catch. There are multicultural dining opportunities all over the city, including in Haymarket’s Chinatown and the restaurants serving the Italian community in Leichhardt. A ferry ride through the harbour is part of the experience in visiting outer Sydney destinations such as Bondi and Manly Beaches – both popular for surfing.
Weather and Events:
Sydney is temperate and sunny all year, and crowds are highest during summer (Dec–Feb) and during school holidays. Major events that increase hotel demand are the performing-arts–focused Sydney Festival (Jan), the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras (Feb–Mar), the Sydney Royal Easter Show (dates vary) and the Sydney Film Festival (Jun). Severe thunderstorms are most likely Oct–Mar.
