CITYRAMA Budapest - Magic Hungary
Tour description, images and online booking:
A magic combination: First explore Gödöllő Palace, the former summer residence of Queen Elisabeth and Francis Joseph, then enjoy a traditional horse show and a carriage ride.
The Royal Palace of Gödöllő is located just 30 minutes outside of Budapest. It is one of the largest palaces in the country and is a significant work of Hungarian Baroque architecture. The Austro-Hungarian Monarchy's ruling couple, Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife Queen Elizabeth (known as Sisi) frequently stayed here.
After the guided tour through the Gödöllő Palace we drive to a traditional farm where you will be welcomed with a Hungarian delicacy pogácsa and the national welcome drink, pálinka. Followed by a carriage ride you can enjoy a traditional horse with breathtaking stunts before we return to Budapest. The tour ends in the city centre.

My channel on you tube : is one of the most prolific from Poland. I have produced over 2,100 original films.
My big interest in life is travel and history but I have also placed films on other subjects.
Please feel free to ask questions in the public area or to comment on things you disagree with. Sometimes there are mistakes because I speak without preparation. If I see the mistakes myself, I make this clear in the text. Please also leave a star rating!
I am very fortunate that I can spend a large part of my life travelling, thanks to the business I chose to run which allows me to do this. There are a number of films here on the packaging industry. This is because I am the publisher of Central and Eastern European Packaging -- - the international platform for the packaging industry in this region focusing on the latest innovations, trends, design, branding, legislation and environmental issues with in-depth profiles of major industry achievers.
Most people may think packaging pretty boring but it possibly effects your life more than you really imagine!
Central and Eastern European Packaging examines the packaging industry throughout this region, but in particular in the largest regional economies which are Russia, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Austria. That is not to say that the other countries are forgotten, they are not, but obviously there is less going on. However the fact that there are so many travel related films here is not from holidays but from business trips attending trade fairs around the region. Every packaging trade fair is a new excuse to make another film!

Czech stud farm added to UNESCO World Heritage List
(16 Jul 2019) LEAD IN :
Amongst the new additions to the UNESCO list of World Heritage is a Czech stud farm that dates back to the Habsburg empire.
STORY-LINE:
Horses have been bred here at the Czech National stud farm in the town of Kladruby nad Labem for centuries.
Now that tradition has been recognised by UNESCO, which has added the site to the list of World Heritage.
Founded 440 years ago to breed and train ceremonial horses to serve at the Habsburg (also spelled Hapsburg) imperial court, little has changed here since.
It officially it was founded in 1579 when Emperor Rudolf II of the House of Habsburg gave an imperial status to an original stud established by his father, Emperor Maximilian II.
Among famed regular visitors of the site that includes a small chateau and a church were later Emperor Franz Joseph I with his wife Elisabeth of Bavaria, who was known as Sisi.
The stud survived wars and a devastating 18th century fire till the end of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918 when the newly established Czechoslovak state took over, which was not known for favoring relics of the former empire.
The horse breeding looked fated to end, but the traditions passed down from generation to generation of breeder, grooms and trainers endured.
The stud also survived 40 years of the communist rule later in the 20th century and emerged in the 21st century to benefit from a restoration funded by the European Union in 2015.
The Kladruby site occupies 1,310 hectares, about the size it had from the beginning in the 16th century.
It's located on flat sandy land near the Elbe river and contains fields and forests together with the buildings, including the stables, indoor and outdoor training grounds and a symmetrical network of roads.
UNESCO describes it as one of Europe's leading horse-breeding institutions, developed at a time when horses played vital roles in transport, agriculture, military support and aristocratic representation.
Kladruby director Jiri Machek says UNESCO's recognition is the confirmation of the global uniqueness of this place.
There are three unique aspects about it, Machek adds It's not only about a tangible heritage, it is also the breeding of unique Kladruber horses, which means the landscape still serves its original purpose. And the third, unique thing which is not mentioned so often is the intangible heritage, the traditional way of doing things, that is we have been trying to operate the stud in a traditional way.
Kladruby is the home of the Kladruber horse, one of the oldest breeds and rarest in the world, with a global population of about 1,200.
The Kladrubers were bred to serve as ceremonial carriage horses at the Habsburg courts in Vienna and Prague.
It's a warm-blooded breed that is based on Spanish and Italian horses. A convex head with a Roman nose is among their significant features.
Since the late 18th century, there are two alternatives, grey and black. The grey horses were used to for the royals at various ceremonies while the black ones served the high-ranked clergy.
Today, they still do the same at the Danish court while others are used by the trumpeters from the Swedish Royal Mounted Guard and some also carry police officers in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands.
Their peaceful nature makes them a popular horse for riding among private owners around the globe. They also participate in international competitions in carriage driving.
