Kyaukme is a bustling market town in Northern Shan State and it is lesser-known town than Hispaw which was the royal residence of last shan prince. Kyaukme is worth a visit with some colonial buildings and alive market.It is a good centre for numerous trekking options near by hills and waterfalls are out there! However, there are a few guest houses to accomodate you and make sure you reserve your room beforehand.One more thing is that you are recommeded to get tour guides because there are some off-limit routes which can threaten your safety. Anyway, you would be surprised to see the most stunning sights in Kyaukme and you can do trekking and biking, motorbike tours ranging from one day to three days. Exploring in Kyaukme would be very good for you to seize the opportunities such as getting you reasonable prices for almost everything, much more interaction with natives, seeing wonderful sights in different version because of the weather, less toursity and much more!!

16 February 2017 - Day 97 - Kyaukme Trekking I
Today we start another trek but this time further up north from Kyaukme throughout the Shan State!!
We spend the morning rolling through on motorbikes then it's back on the trail walking a cruisy 9km before we make it to the village for an overnight stay!
I would even say the landscapes here are even more amazing than at Kalaw!! Come check it out!!
