Viva Vegan Cuisine Review in Tacoma
This is a review of Viva Vegan Cuisine in the Proctor district of Tacoma, Washington. Viva Vegan Cuisine has an array of cooked vegan dishes and raw vegan dishes. We opted to test out three raw vegan plates along with the raw vegan dessert option. In order of what we enjoyed most, we had the; raw blueberry agave cheesecake, the raw enchiladas, the taco salad, and the ginger miso salad. In this video we spoke with the head chef Ben Nichols who came from the Tri Cities area of Washington. Viva Vegan Cuisine is the brain child of chef Paco Hernandez along with a couple plant based investors. We loved our dinner, and we encourage you to support this 100% vegan fine dining establishment.

Tacoma Police employee attempt to escalate a physical confrontation with photographer
On 11-18-2014 I was filming a protest at St. Joseph's Medical Center, Tacoma, WA. I started to notice security was watching me and taking pictures, so I started filming them. After about 45 minutes of this, it appeared I had my own under cover security detail following me in an unmarked vehicle. Of course, I started filming them. I walked around the entire perimeter of the medical center and they followed -appearing to try to remain incognito, even though I was filming them at every turn. When I got to the back side of the medical center, I noticed 2 marked vehicles from Tacoma Police Department arrived to my general location. It was reported they were telling the protesters (who had a permit for their free speech) they had to go another 50ft away. I called across the street to encourage them to get the names and badge numbers of the police employees.
Since the sidewalk was closed in a few different locations, making crossing the street in a crosswalk difficult, I looked both ways and crossed. I was immediately issued a J-Walking ticket. Of course, the police employees J-Walked a few times to give me this ticket, after running my info. I pointed out that many other people were crossing the street in the same fashion and asked why I was singled out. I received no conclusive answer and can only guess it was because I was the only one actively filming the police employees.
After I was issued my ticket, Tacoma Police Employee B. Paris hovered around me. He bumped into me a few times and stood within inches from me. It appeared that issuing a ticket was not enough for this pirate and his cohort. He seemed to actually want to provoke a physical altercation with me.
I think it is important to note the obvious: I was pretty upset with the way these employees acted like simple dogs, pissing on a rock and posturing. I think it is OK to be pissed at cops who act in the SAME WAY that would be an arrestable offense if a citizen did it.
Whether one agrees with what I do or how I do it, one should ask if it is ever OK for a police employee to physically touch a person in this way. If a citizen did the same thing, a police employee would articulate that the citizen was standing within their reactionary gap and they felt threatened and used force. When a cop does it, they say they can do it if they want.
Is this the type of policing we need in America?

Point Defiance Park Raccoon (Rocket) Begging for Food | Tacoma Washington
I had pulled off the side of the road when I spotted this cute little raccoon running across the road and up to my car passenger window side. He was standing up on his hind legs and begging for food in the cutest little way. It was hard to resist his furry little face. His tenacity reminded me of Rocket the Raccoon. He's so adorable. He was staring at me and when I didn't feed him any of my snacks, he walked on down the road to wait for someone else. It is very illegal to do so in this park. There are signs everywhere. But clearly, as you can tell by his behavior that he gets fed a lot. The Point Defiance Park 5 mile loop drive is very popular with the tourists and the locals. It very beautiful here. But, please, please stop feeding the trash pandas and other wildlife animals in this Park. It's not good for them and only harms them. This is one of the reasons I posted this video. Not just for the cuteness, but also to bring awareness and a reminder about not feeding the wildlife here. If you get caught feeding them it is a really stiff fine of $532 dollars. If someone gets a photo of you and your license plate number they can turn you in to the rangers. So, it's just best to observe the little cuties.
I filmed this video with a GoPro Hero 7 black hyper smooth camera at the Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, Washington. This is the Pacific Northwest of the United States of America.
I hope you liked watching this raccoon video!

Tacoma Narrows Bridge Collapse Gallopin' Gertie
Watch the amazing Gallopin' Gertie November 7, 1940 film clip.
1940 Tacoma Narrows Bridge
Slender, elegant and graceful, the Tacoma Narrows Bridge stretched like a steel ribbon across Puget Sound in 1940. The third longest suspension span in the world opened on July 1st. Only four months later, the great span's short life ended in disaster. Galloping Gertie, collapsed in a windstorm on November 7,1940.
The bridge became famous as the most dramatic failure in bridge engineering history. Now, it's also one of the world's largest man-made reefs. The sunken remains of Galloping Gertie were placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992 to protect her from salvagers.
A dramatic tale of failure and success
The story of the failure of the 1940 Narrows Bridge and the success of the Current Narrows Bridge is a great American saga. When Galloping Gertie splashed into Puget Sound, it created ripple effects across the nation and around the world. The event changed forever how engineers design suspension bridges. Gertie's failure led to the safer suspension spans we use today.

Northern Fish Tacoma WA service
this is a short clip of the kind of service you get at Northern Fish on 3911 S 56th St in Tacoma Washington. first, we were not greeted, or asked if we needed help finding anything, when i asked this gentleman for 3 pounds of mussels he rolled his eyes at me then he grudgingly bagged some. then we asked the employee Isaiah, if he could dump the excess ice from our bag of mussels and re-weigh the bag. he then started cussing us out under his breath and my father in law called him out on it, and then he started to get irate, and challenging. My father in law called him out on that too. it was a very unpleasant experience, the manager on duty was no help, both were very unprofessional. there was apparently another employee there not on the clock, who absolutely did not make things better, commenting after i stopped recording theres another camera right there while pointing to a security camera. i will not be returning to this location and i wouldnt recommend it to any of my friends and family.

City of Lakewood, WA: Youth Recreation
This video gives insight into what recreational opportunities are available for youth in the community of Lakewood, Wash., which is located next to Tacoma and south of Seattle.
At an official population of about 60,000 residents, as well as serving nearby Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), there are plenty of opportunities.
Highlighted are programs from the City of Lakewood's Parks and Recreation programs, the Lakewood Family YMCA and the Lakewood Boys & Girls Club. For more information:

Polson Lumber #70 and NP #7012 McKinley hill Tacoma to Kapowsin, Washington
Freshly rebuilt Polson Loggin #70, makes a rare appearance at Tacoma, Washington. Along for the ride is Northern Pacific F-unit #7012A. This is one of my favorite places to rail fan. Tacoma hill has one of the steepest main line railroad grades in the United States with a maximum grade of 3.8%. Steam excursions on this line is a rarity.
The Milwaukee road frequently used 10 locomotives or more to get up the steep hill. The bottom of the hill was home to some spectacular runaway accidents including one where rail cars went flying through the Brown and Haley chocolate factory at the bottom of the hill seen in 1:43 (you may notice a difference in the color of the wood if you look close enough)
The Mount Rainier railroad is the host of this special occasion. The overcast rain and drizzle is common in the Pacific Northwest leaving lush rain forests through out the state. A problem developed on the steam locomotive on the way back home where a cylinder cock was stuck open. Filmed May 15th, 2011.
