Tahiti Pearl Market Tahiti - Select the pearls and settings of your choice
Location
In Tahiti, Tahiti Pearl Market have two different stores. One is in the heart of the main town of Papeete, the other is on the sea front. All two stores offer the same range of pearls and jewelry, based on the same innovative concept.
Tahiti Pearl Market
Founded in 1994 by Frank Tehaamatai, the company now owns seven pearl farms on five different atolls of the Tuamotu Archipelago. In the mythic island of Bora Bora, Tahiti Pearl Market has created an innovative concept, with a choice of over 200,000 Tahitian Cultured Pearls along with a multitude of gold, diamond and silver settings. You can select the pearls and settings of your choice, and a customized piece of jewelry is created especially for you by TPM's design team.
Whether you settle on a necklace, a bracelet or a ring, your pearls have a lifetime warranty, which is a feature unique to Tahiti Pearl Market. You can even get after-sales service in Japan, Hong Kong, the US and in France. All TPM's pearls come with a certificate of authenticity, and thanks to the company's status as pearl producers, are free of tax.
The staff at Tahiti Pearl Market are more than just salespeople. They are pearl consultants who will guide you in your selection. With their profound knowledge of the product, these advisers are able to share their passion in French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Portuguese.
Tahitian Black Pearls
Tahiti and the Tuamotu islands are the only places in the world producing the world famous Tahitian black pearls. Even though they are called black pearls, colors range from white to black, with infinite possbilities of yellow (champagne), purple (aubergine), green, blue, etc.
In Polynesia, the pearl oyster species used to produce black pearls is the Pinctada Margaritifera, or the black-lip pearl oyster, which derives its name from the pigmentation of its mantle. Most of the pearls are produced in the Tuamotu archipelago, whose lagoons are ideal sites for the growth and the reproduction of pearl oysters.
The ideal pearl is perfectly round and smooth, but many other shapes of pearls (including baroque pearls) occur naturally.

Gypsy Hobo is channel for everything that has to do with my land travels!
Papeete, on Tahiti, is the capital of French Polynesia, a group of islands in the South Pacific. Beside the port, busy Place Vai’ete fills with roulottes, or food carts, in the evenings. Nearby, the large Marché de Papeete market sells local produce, fish and handicrafts. The Robert Wan Pearl Museum focuses on the local pearl industry and sells jewelry. A red spire tops the 19th-century Notre Dame Cathedral.
