Tahune Forest AirWalk - Tasmania - Australia
Walk among the giants of the forest.
Experience the power of nature at southern Tasmania's must-see attraction, the Tahune AirWalk. With breathtaking views of the forest canopy, spine-tingling swinging bridges across the Huon and Picton Rivers, and Tasmanian food and wine in the licensed café, there's a full day of fun for the whole family.
Whether you're looking for a peaceful forest ramble or are up for a more challenging hike, one of Tahune's trails is sure to fit the bill. Pick your own path to the AirWalk by taking time out to enjoy one of the many forest walks en route, all clearly signposted along the Arve Road.
Did you know that some of the tallest trees in the world grow in southern Tasmania? The Forest and Heritage Centre in Geeveston is the place to be if you want to learn more. As a bonus to the AirWalk's admission fee, entry to the centre is included as part of your forest experience.
It all adds up to an action packed day in the great outdoors for everyone, located only one hour and twenty minutes from Hobart.

Tahune Airwalk Lodge, Southern Forests, Tasmania
After a lovely day at the Hastings Cave and Hot Thermal Springs we drove the hour and a half to Tahune Forest Airwalk to stay overnight in the Tahune Forest Lodge.
The lodge only opened around 4 months earlier, in April 2011. It is a self contained building that has 8 bedrooms with beds for up to 25 people.
There is a lovely, fully equipped kitchen, with everything that you could want to prepare any great meal.
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milk are all provided for you. You can bring your own supplies when you come or pickup some basic supplies from the Airwalk office during opening hours.
It is also beautifully set out with separate shower and toilet for men and women and another for special needs access.
Another great feature is that you are in the middle of the National Southern Forests of Tasmania and so can enjoy relaxing walks down to the Huon River or around the Airwalk.
The area is truly gorgeous. We are glad that we stayed the night at the lodge and hope to be back in the future. We will definitely recommend this to friends!

Tahune Airwalk - Eagle Hang Gliding
On our recent trip to Tasmania we travelled south-west from Hobart to the Southern Forests. Here we enjoyed the Eagle Hang Gliding experience over the pristine Huon River.
The hang glider is located at the Tahune Airwalk around 30 minutes drive into the forest from Geeveston.
It was an exhilarating and exciting experience that each family member loved. It is something that we highly recommend to all visitors to Tassie.
The Eagle Hang Glider is definitely something that we will go on again on our next visit to Tasmania.

Tahune Airwalk drive to Geeveston
Tahune AirWalk Tasmania Australia
DescriptionNo visit to the Tasmania would be complete without experiencing the Tahune AirWalk - one of Tasmania’s most popular tourism attractions.
Tahune Airwalk is located 1 and a half hours drive south of Hobart, in the Huon Valley on the Huon River banks. The Airwalk offers an aerial view of the state's southern forests. The treetop walk overlooks the Huon River. The swinging bridges cross the Huon and Picton Rivers.
This spectacular 619 metre long tree top walk offers visitors a bird’s eye view of the forest canopy, culminating in a 24 metre long cantilever that overlooks the confluence of the Huon and Picton rivers at 48metres above.
The AirWalk also offers a range of other activities, such as cable hang gliding, as well as three tranquil forest walks and onsite accommodation. Included on site is a licensed café and gift shop featuring regional products and specialties.
