CTM Red Deer River 1 - Content Bridge to Mackenzie Crossing
This video is about a four day Red Deer River canoe trip between Content Bridge and Bleriot Ferry by the Canadian Travel Mongers in July 2016. This section from Tail Creek Campground to Mackenzie Crossing included the Backbone Riffle, unfortunately it had to be walked through as it was very shallow.
The Brothers' Hunting Trip 2016 (Tahr/Red Deer)
Went for a hunting trip down south. Drove from Matamata to Auckland then flew to Christchurch. Borrowed Uncle John's Prado and headed further south after some Tahr/Chamios/Deer/ anything we could find. Ended up knocking over a young bull tahr of just over ten inches, two nannies and a pair of yearling hinds. All three Tahr were our first Tahr each and the two Deer were Dan's first and second Deer.

Tail
A short video with one small brown trout. If you don't sight-fish (aka spot trout) you might look at the small details in this video. We were out on a small spring creek with a friend and he eventually got the trout to take a hopper. Before that, mind you, we had to contend with first spotting the brown in amongst the glare from a passing white cloud to the north as well as a cloud covering the sun. Both caused glare on the water. The brown ignored the caddis, then the caddis with dropper nymph, then ignored a small hopper, before finally coming to inspect a larger deer-hair grasshopper pattern. It was neat to watch it hang immediately below the hopper before smashing it. The last neat little detail is to point out the directionality of the weeds in this spring creek - they tell the story of the flow, depth, and how deflections and buckets push the flow.

White-tail deer in the city of Winnipeg - Oленi в місті Вінніпеґ
We live in a city embedded within parks and patches of forests, and a web of waterways that snake in and around our neighbourhoods. White-tail deer share the space around us just like many other critters, such as fox, racoons, and especially white-tail rabbits. It is always a delight to these beautiful animals. They were probably just looking for food. At first, we thought they were statues since Winnipeggers are fond of having statues of deer decorating their front lawns. Coming back for a closer look we understood these mammals were real and just making their way past the side of a house to get to the forest patch across the street. It was a wonderful sight! Enjoy.
Deer Spotting in City Park here (Oленi в міському парку тут)

Kayumari is 160 acres located on the north side of South Fork of the Stanislaus River canyon. It’s approximately 10 miles from Columbia, a California State Park and historical gold rush town.
