Taipei 101 is located in the XinYi District of Taipei, which has become popular for night life, restaurants, shopping, and street performers. To get to this area, ride the MRT (i.e. subway) to the Taipei City Hall station on the blue line, and take exit 3. If you're looking for a good view of Taipei 101 - particularly at night - we recommend dinner at Vapiano, an Italian restaurant on the 10th floor of the ATT4Fun building or drinks at Sita, on the same level as Vapiano. When the weather is good, the street artists near the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department store perform during the day and night, which creates a fun atmosphere. If you're interested in seeing a movie, head over to Vieshow, which is next door to ATT4Fun. Happy exploring! :)

Hello, luvies!
This vlog is my mom and I's first day (and first time!!) at Taipei, Taiwan. Day 1 pa lang, but we had almost 19,000 steps based sa phone app ko. Grabe, heavy walking (minsan running) mga bes. Fell in love with Taiwan immediately - the place, the people, and the FOOD - one of the best!
Day 1 itinerary:
9:45 am: Arrived at TPE Intl Airport
11:15 am: Off to the City proper (rode bus 1819 to Taipei Main Station, then taxi from there to our hotel)
1:30 pm: Lunch at nearby 7 eleven (gutom na gutom na kami kaya ayun)
2:45 pm: Taipei 101 observatory and mall (reserved our tickets via Klook app)
4:30 pm: Walked from Mall to Xinyi Shopping District
5:15 pm: Raohe Street Night Market / Wufenpu (rode bus 284 and WALKED. A. LOT.)
8:00 pm: Went back to the hotel

I send my sincere apologies for the rainyness of the day and the video... I think it was couple days just before the typhoon came and the weather was simply crap! Anyway I'm telling you, any condo unit located in this rich man area (xinyi district) cost at least 2-3 millions USD. That's why I was only there to grocery shop... And that story about Bellavita was entirely true. No joke!
As for Taipei 101, well it is a must visit for all and every tourists though for the locals it just ain't anything special lol I haven't even been on the observatory yet (well that's because it would cost me 20 bucks and packed with tourists from China at all times). The mall located in the lower floors of Taipei 101 though is also fancy as hell. So be prepped to just window shop!

Xinyi District is the seat of the Taipei City Government and Taipei City Council. The district includes Taipei 101, Taipei International Convention Center, Taipei World Trade Center, National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and various shopping malls and entertainment venues, making it the most cosmopolitan district of Taipei. Xinyi District is also considered the financial district of Taipei.
The district is a prime shopping area in Taipei, anchored by a number of department stores and malls. In addition, numerous high-end restaurants are located in the area.

TAIWAN VLOG: Day 1 (Part 1) | Ximending, Taipei 101
It's our first time in Taiwan! Yay!

We arrived in Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport at around 12:10 AM and took the Kuo Kuang Bus 1819 (125 NTD) to Taipei Main Station. MRT is closed that time so we had to take the bus. After arriving in Taipei Main Station, we took a taxi going to our hotel which is located in Ximending and the ride was only about 10-15 mins, we paid 130 NTD.
In the morning, we just had our breakfast at Mcdonald's and explore Ximending. Most of the stores that time were closed, there are also street foods around to eat for breakfast! Yummy!
Ximending to Taipei 101:
From MRT Ximen Station (Bannan Line/Blue Line) to Taipei Main Station and transferred to the Red Line to Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station (Tamsui-Xinyi Line)
Taipei 101:
If you want to see the best view in Taipei, you have to check the Taipei 101 Observatory Deck which is located at the 89F of Taipei 101. There is an entrance fee that costs 600 NTD each. A bit pricey but it's definitely worth it!
