PV Taiwan 2015 in Taipei World Trade Center-Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei, Taiwan
This is an overview of PV Taiwan 2015 in Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei, Taiwan, recorded on October 14, 2015. It's a composite of photos and videos photoed/video-recorded, and uploaded by sunisthefuture-Susan Sun Nunamaker and rendered by Michael Nunamaker.
The event organizer was very astute in combining PV Taiwan-TIGIS-Laser Taiwan 2015 into one conference/exhibition event because there is much cross-over among these three industries. 2015 PV (Photovoltaics) Taiwan & 2015 TIGIS (Taiwan International Green Industry Show) open concurrently for the first time at Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall, creating the most comprehensive and complete platform for Green Energy Industry in Taiwan. The event lasted between Oct. 14-16, 2015.
As we got close to the exhibition center on Oct. 14, 2015, we realized that there would be some serious VIP attending this event because the building was surrounded by security guards. As it turned out, the VIP is the President of Taiwan, Ma Ying-jeou. Not only did President Ma give an encouraging opening address, he also took a quick tour of the exhibit with his entourage, caught in this video above (at 4:53 mark of the video). It is clear that President Ma appreciates the relevance of solar/renewable industry at this juncture of human history. He understands that we all need to get into the clean, renewable, and solar energy. His attendance was truly a morale boost for all of those in solar industry and in attendance.
This is a very well organized event where media/press are treated well. The main difference between PV Taiwan and SPI or Intersolar is that PV Taiwan has greater emphasis in manufacturing components (such as material and equipments) whereas SPI or Intersolar tends to emphasize more on finished product. It is apparent that a lot of Taiwanese or Chinese solar businesses are in collaboration with other European companies (such as German companies). I believe Taiwanese business people, as a group, is extremely versatile and collaborative. They also understand the importance of education and research for solar industry's future. It is an event worth attending for solar businesses that want to connect with others from different parts of the world.
Taipei, Taiwan, has presented itself as a world class city, where order, cleanliness, and smart planning and designs may be found every where. Taiwan is truly a beautiful place, a wonderful island where services are the tops, best (cleanest and easiest to navigate) mass transport (MRT), and people are extremely friendly! Taipei, Taiwan, is a city where one doesn't need to speak/know Chinese/Mandarin and still be able to get around the city because all signs and metro announcements are in both English and Chinese. It is truly an international city.

Taipei Travel Guide - Beautiful Taiwan
Taipei Travel Guide - Beautiful Taiwan
Taipei is the national capital of Taiwan. It is in the northern part of the island in a basin between the Yangming Mountains and the Central Mountains. It is, with 2.6 million inhabitants, the fourth largest administrative area of Taiwan, after New Taipei, Kaohsiung and Taichung. However, the Greater Taipei metropolitan area, which encompasses the central Taipei City along with the surrounding New Taipei City and Keelung, represents the largest urban cluster in Taiwan with nearly 7 million people.
Taipei City administers twelve districts :
Wanhua (萬華區)
Wanhua is the oldest district of Taipei, home to many historic buildings, such as the Longshan Temple and the Red House Theater. Ximending is the harajuku of Taipei, a shopping neighbourhood centred around teenager fashion, Japanese culture and subcultures.
Datong (大同區)
Datong is one of the oldest inhabited areas in what is now Taipei. It used to be the city's commercial centre, but has lost relevance as the economic centre shifted southeast to Zhongzheng, Daan and Xinyi. It is now most known for Dihua Street with its Japanese colonial and Qing dynasty architecture and Chinese herbal and dry goods shops.
Zhongzheng (中正區)
The political center of Taiwan and the location of the Presidential Office and important government ministries. Its prime tourist attractions is the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall.
Zhongshan (中山區)
Zhongshan has riverside parks, the Martyrs Shrine, the Fine Arts Museum.
Daan (大安區)
Daan is a modern commercial district. The northern part of Daan is known as Taipei's East District, offering department stores, plenty of fashion boutiques, lounge bars, and atmospheric restaurants and some of the most expensive real estate in the city. The southern part of Daan is home to National Taiwan University and National Taiwan Normal University.
Xinyi (信義區)
Xinyi is the modern financial district of Taipei and home to the Taipei 101, the World Trade Center and the International Convention Center. It is the newest part of the city with many shopping malls.
Songshan (松山區)
Many firms and financial institutions in this neighbourhood, which is directly north of the East District. Raohe Street Night Market is one of the oldest of Taipei's famous street markets.
Beitou (北投區)
This district is famous for hot springs and the Yangmingshan National Park.
Shilin (士林區)
A traditional area of the city that is known for its excellent museums, including the world famous National Palace Museum. Shilin is also home to one of Taipei's largest nightmarket and the expat enclave of Tianmu.
Neihu (內湖區)
Located in the north-east of the city, Neihu is a hub of IT industry in Taipei, home to many large shopping centers, and a great place for hiking and 'templing'. A mouth-watering juxtaposition of local Taiwanese culture and modern shopping malls and restraunts. A definite must-visit, Neihu is largely a secret to the tourist world, unfortunately.
Nangang (南港區)
Neighboring Neihu, this district is known for its IT industrial complexes and is also home to one of Taiwan's leading academic institution - Academia Sinica.
Wenshan (文山區)
This district comprises the two traditional districts of Muzha and Jingmei. It is in the south of the city and associated with its many tea plantations and also for being the location of Taipei Zoo.

Taiwan 2015 Mall in Taipei
My trip to Taiwan in September 2015. I walked past this mall entrance with a cool lit up snake on it. Location was very close to the Taipei 101 building.
Introduction-Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall
Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall (TWTC Nangang) is a superimposed purpose-built exhibition complex in Nangang, Taipei, which consists of two exhibition halls one over the other. It is located to the east of the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC), about 15 minutes' drive from the TWTC along the Huangdong Expressway. This complex, Taiwan's argest trade-show venue has the capacity to host 2,467 standard-size (3x3 meters) booths and occupies an exhibition space of 45,360 square meters. We basically survey every street first in Taipei, then in Taiwan and then later on in the whole of Asia Pacific. We derive from images. We derive attributes, like lane information or street signs, street names, one-way restrictions. A lot of things. But ultimately, thanks to the video images, we can make a real virtual 3-D world. So in the future, you'll see maps instead of being two dimensional, there'll be three dimensional. They will give an exact copy of what you see in reality.

Well, actually the technology that is used is pretty close to video games. The only difference there is with video games is artificial reality. Here it's very close to the real reality. So it's actually a copy in the virtual world of what you see outside in the city.

You have to drive safely and follow traffic regulations, and the recent driving conditions. Second, you have to avoid being blocked by, for example, some heavy goods vehicles. You have to keep away from them while driving, so that the camera will not be obstructed by them. What is more is the weather. Since we use cameras to collect data, they will be affected under different weather conditions. Our system will examine itself automatically. We have to avoid these problem as well and therefore weather is also a concern.

In Asia, it (GPS) is more prevalent among hi-tech countries like Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Japan is an area that highly adopts new information technology. But we see a prospect of China market. China had a rapid growth last year. We estimated the export to China will exceed 800,000 sets.

More about Taipei:
Taipei, Taiwan is a super modern city with a deep-rooted culture that is becoming more and more popular as a gateway to East Asia and Southeast Asia.
It’s new express MRT service from Taoyuan International Airport, a 36 minute ride, will make it even more convenient for travellers, especially those on a short layover.
This short but important list of essential things you should know will help keep you on track with a smooth stay.
Although taxis are plentiful and relatively inexpensive compared with other big cities in East Asia the MRT is one of the best ways to get to most of the main sites and business centers of Taipei City.
The Nangang Exhibition Center where many conventions and shows are held is accessible by the blue and brown MRT lines. Neihou, where many tech industry businesses have their head office is also on the brown line, Xihu is one of the most convenient stops for quick and easy access.
Taipei 101 for the last 3.5 years has had it’s own MRT stop on the red line. This is where you’ll also find The International Convention Center next to the Taipei 101 Shopping Mall. It’s also in close proximity to Taipei City Hall and is apart of the Xinyi Shopping District, where you’ll find one of the largest selections of luxury goods stores in East Asia.
If you want to get more of a local perspective pick up an Easycard available at most MRT stations and register it online with Ubike, so you can have access to the city bikes that have stations across Taipei City and New Taipei City. Simply swipe your card next to the bike you want to rent and you’re ready to go. You can drop the bike off at any Ubike station. They’re almost always located near an MRT station.
In the video I mention briefly that the Taiwanese people are very friendly and helpful. It’s true! If you ever appear to be lost or confused while looking at a map you will in most cases immediately attract the attention of a local who will be pleased to help you find your way. That’s wny I said “get lost”, literally you can get lost while exploring this amazing city with it’s maze of alleyways, quiet cafes, food stalls and shops and not worry that you won’t have help getting back to your hotel.
Taipei and the rest of Taiwan is an extremely safe place to travel. There is literally no or very rare violent crime against tourists. Personal ownership of guns is banned. There has been reports of pick pocketing and petty theft, particularly in night markets and crowded places, but I think this is even rare now.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
The Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC; Chinese: 臺北世界貿易中心; pinyin: Táiběi Shìjiè Màoyì Zhōngxīn) was started in January 1986 by Taiwan's foremost trade promotion organization, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), to provide a single, modern venue that would combine exhibition space, conference facilities, offices, and hotel accommodation for international business. TWTC combines every possible service that brings together a vast consulting service on trade-related issues, trading partners, suppliers, and markets.
This four-in-one complex, located in the city's Xinyi District, is designed to accommodate the needs of the international business community, which is why there is not just one, but four structures at the TWTC. The Exhibition Hall, International Convention Center, International Trade Building and Grand Hyatt Taipei, all comprise one integrated business complex.

The 6th International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis - Asia Pacific Chapter Meeting (ISPD-APCM), to be held at Grand Hotel Taipei in Taiwan, on September 27th to 29th 2013. PD has become a major treatment modality in some Asia-Pacific countries. In 1984, three medical centers in Taiwan began to initiate CAPD to treat ESRD patients. By the year 2013, chronic PD therapy will have been administered in Taiwan for third decades.
According to the annual report of USRDS 2011, the prevalence and incidence of ESRD in many Asian countries are among the highest in the world. The penetration rate of PD, however, varies greatly across the Asia-Pacific areas, from a high to 80% in Hong Kong to less than 4% in Japan. Some countries show a progressive increase in PD penetration rate. In Taiwan, the rate of PD prescription has increased annually since 2004 in spite of the downward trend worldwide.
Many of the Asia-Pacific countries have been working hard to improve the quality of renal replacement therapy. Since 1987, Taiwan Society of Nephrology have implemented an evaluation program designed to assess not only the quality of the facilities in PD centers, but also the proficiency of the nephrologists and nurses who administer treatments, and it have achieved good results with dialysis quality and patient survival.
