How do American Bisons Protect each other ?
American Bisons seem like very calm animals but they have a peculiar technique to defend themselves when they are attacked.
Males form a circle in which the other Bison's stay. Their heads are directly facing their opponents such as gray wolves and mountain lions, threatening them with their horns. If necessary male Bison's would run toward their opponents and scare them away most of the time.
The Bongos are herbivorous mammals. They have a complex social interaction and found in African dense forest mosaics.

TAIWAN TRAVEL | Taipei Zoo | Day 3 - It's our last day to tour and see the beauty of Taiwan and we began by checking its flora and fauna at the Taipei zoo - the largest zoo in Asia covering 165 hectares, including 90 hectares open to the public! The Taipei Zoo sometimes referred to as the Muzha Zoo, is a public zoological garden located at Wenshan District, Taipei, Taiwan. It is the most famous zoological garden in the country and a leader in conservation, research and education, and recreation.
Personally, I had so much fun in the zoo. Having been able to see the animals that I have been dreaming to see was a moment so wonderful to me as a Science teacher! As a matter of fact, I lost my companions along the way. I just went ballistic trying to see all the flora and fauna I could cover with the time we had at the zoo. It was an amazing moment! And, thank God I bumped into them again at the penguin section!
Then, after an amazing tour at the zoo, we headed to ride the cable car near the zoo - the Maokong Gondola. It is a 4.3 km gondola lift transportation system in Taipei that opened on 4 July 2007. This was the first time I have ridden a cable car and it was another amazing adventure! When we reached the top (Maokong), it was another beautiful place to tour around. After this trip to Taipei Zoo and Maokong, we headed to Ximen again to buy our pasalubongs.
My Taiwan trip was an amazing adventure. It was filled with many great things, ones that made me realize that life is a blessing! The Bible says God has made everything beautiful in its time! So, let's not give up on life, my friends! Seize each moment and live our lives because God made it worth living!

The Taipei zoo is not only the largest and most varied zoo in Taiwan, it is also one of the best zoos in Asia, and at the same time extremely affordable with the price of entrance only 60 NT per adult. If you have time, you should definitely stop by and visit this zoo, if not for anything else but to see Taiwan's ingenious animals like the Formosan Black Bear and Sika Deer which are hard to see in the wild.
Background:
The Taipei City Zoo was originally established during the Japanese Era in 1914 near the Yuanshan Hotel. After the ROC took control of Taiwan, elephants, lions, and bears were added to the zoo in 1952. Because there was not enough land to expand the zoo, it was moved to Wenshan District in 1986. Two employees have been killed by animals, one from an elephant and one from a black bear both in the 1970s. There have been no fatalities at the zoo since. The Maokong Gondola was built next to the zoo in 2007, connecting Taipei Zoo with Maokong.
The current zoo includes a Taiwan indigenous animal exhibit, children's petting zoo, tropical rain forest exhibit, desert animal exhibit, Australian and African animal exhibits, tropical animal exhibit, petting zoo, insect exhibit, and bird exhibit. There is also indoor Panda exhibit, insect exhibit, amphibian and reptile exhibit, koala exhibit, and penguin exhibit.
Hours:
9 AM to 5 PM, tickets are not sold after 4:00 PM.
Sometimes in the summer twilight hours are extended to 9:00 PM, but it's not worth going as most all of the animal exhibits are closed after 5:00 PM.

How to get there:
By MRT: Take the brown line MRT to the Taipei Zoo station, then walk north a few hundred meters until you reach the zoo entrance.
By Car/Scooter: Drive to the Taipei Zoo (via highway 3 or county road 106), and park somewhere on the street or in a parking lot, the walk to the zoo entrance.

I'm back with another short trip to another Asialand!
I arrived in Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport at around 1:25 AM and took the Kuo Kuang Bus to Taipei Main Station. MRT is closed that time so I had to take the bus. After arriving in Taipei Main Station, I took a cab going to our hotel which is located in Ximending and the ride was only about 10-15 mins and paid 130 NTD.

Checking out one of the biggest Zoo's in ASIA ( TAIPEI ZOO)
So I went on a solo mission to check out the Taipei Zoo today. It was so big I only saw half of it. It cost 60 nt = 2usd to get in! There are plenty of animals there! It is one of the biggest Zoo's in Asia.

How To Get There:
Para makapunta ng National Palace Museum, sakay po muna kayo ng train pa Taipei Main station (kung galing kayong south or east ng Taiwan), pagbaba nyo po ng Taipei Main Station, lilipat kayo ng RED line MRT papuntang Tamsui (Danshui) then baba kayo ng Shilin MRT station, pagbaba nyo un po ng Shihlin MRT station lakarin nyo po ang ang Zhongsheng Road, malapit lng yan sa exit 1 ng Shilin MRT station, sakay kayo ng bus na number 815 Zhongxing Bus Sanchong Station interval of every 20 minutes.
Maokong Gondola( 貓空纜車)
How To Get There:
The gondola ride includes four stops, namely The Taipei Zoo Station, Taipei Zoo South Station, Zhinan Temple Station and The Maokong Station. One way travel time on the gondola is about 20 - 30 minutes.
Take the Brown Line to Taipei Zoo station (last station). Transfer to the Maokong Gondola, a cable-car service that climbs up the mountain to the peak at Maokong.
Take the Wenshan-Neihu Brown Line of Taipei Metro to the Taipei Zoo Station and then walk to the Maokong Gondola Taipei Zoo Station.

Wenhu Line or Brown Line (BR as identifier) is a medium-capacity rapid transit line of Taipei Metro. It is an automated rubber-tyred metro line and is 25.1 kilometres (15.6 mi) long, serving a total of 24 stations located in 7 districts in Taipei, of which 22 are elevated and 2 underground. As of September 2011, the line transports an average of 180,000 passengers daily.
The Wenshan Section began revenue service on March 28, 1996, as the Muzha Line. The Neihu Section began revenue service on July 4, 2009. The Wenhu Line was formerly named the Muzha–Neihu Line, colloquially shortened as the Zhahu Line before October 8, 2009.
