太平老街位於斗六市的太平路上，清朝到日治時期，太平路都是斗六最繁華的商業區，稱得上是百年老街，以巴洛克式風格為主體設計的建築特色，太平大街有間福德宮做鎮在中段路口，太平老街路的另一盡頭便是「行啟紀念館」
Taiping Old Street is located on Taiping Road in Douliu City. From the Qing Dynasty to the Meiji Period, Taiping Road was the most prosperous business district in Douliu. It is called the century-old street, and features Baroque style as its main architectural feature, Taiping Street. At the end of the intersection with the town of Ford Palace as the town, the other end of Taiping Laojie Road is the “Wan Kai Memorial Hall”.

Taiwan Train Journeys Ep1 Part 2 - Douliu City, Yunlin County
On the 3rd December 2017 I decide to jump on to the train to head south, my goal was to visit three cities in three different counties, so my second city was Douliu which is a small city not known for a large tourism industry, so I thought why not accept the challenge of finding out what is interesting about this city. I went to see Taiping Street which has Japanese architecture from the Japanese era, the old records house and got lost in the Douliu market as well as trying some Taiwanese street food.

台灣有好多好玩的地方！其中一個是礁溪。礁溪在臺北跟花蓮的中間，所以花一天在這裏很方便。礁溪有很多好玩的，包括免費的泡脚，辣味冰淇淋跟好吃的烤鷄。
Taiwan has lots of beautiful little towns to explore, and one of them is Jiaoxi, not far from Taipei and on the way to Hualien and Taroko Gorge. Stop here for a day trip complete with free foot hot springs, chilli ice cream and Taiwan’s famous claypot roast chicken.

I spent one week in Taiwan, so this is the first of a three short videos series. Visit Yunlin with me: its towns (and puppies), Douliu Night Market, Yunlin Hand Puppet Museum and Huwei SL Towel Factory (that makes towels in shape of cakes). Oh, and lots of Bubble Tea.
And Taiwan in August is pretty hot! It is really similar to Okinawa, but since we spent most of the day outside, we felt it more.
