Episode 7: What seems to be a rather unpopular country to visit; I decided to spend some time in Taiwan. I absolutely loved it here! All footage was shot in and around various areas of the New Taipei City area. Extreme temperatures around Taiwan are sending more people to indoor activities
Temperatures are soaring this July. Taitung's Dawu Township saw the mercury reach 38.3 degrees today, a record high for Taiwan this year. Extreme heat is also encouraging people to engage in indoor activities such as ice skating. Normally this ice rink opens at 10 am, but high demand has led it to open an hour earlier during summer vacation. Since the start of the month, business has been up nearly three-fold. Many people come simply to avoid high temperatures outdoors.Another ice-related activity is also a good way to beat the heat.The organizer of this ice sculpture exhibition invited the owners of 50 Siberian huskies to bring their dogs. The dogs were so excited they rolled around in the snow, feeling quite at home in this chilly environment. This weekend, we believe we have an opportunity to attract 5,000 people a day.Today, the temperature in Keelung reached 38.1 and Taipei saw temperatures of 37.5, both highs for the year.
