Leaders of Taichung, Changhua and Nantou meet to discuss drought, poverty and tourism
Local leaders from Taichung, Changhua and Nantou met to discuss Taiwan’s ongoing drought. The group backed a 10-year reservoir dredging proposal which is intended to improve the water supply in central Taiwan. They also pledged to cooperate on a food bank and tourism. Nantou’s Sun Moon Lake is not only a popular tourist destination but also a reservoir. Recently water levels have been quite low, similar to other reservoirs in central Taiwan. Three local government heads representing the area met to draft a cooperative plan to address associated problems.Chen Cheng-shengNantou Deputy CommissionerOur Renai Township Wanda Reservoir, Sun Moon Lake, and the Chi Chi Weir have lots of sludge. If we wish to clean it, we first need to find a place to put it.Wei Ming-kuChanghua CommissionerIf we take the sludge from these reservoirs and add it to the Changpin Industrial Park, we can reclaim some more land for our country.These local leaders are proposing a 10-year reservoir cleaning project to the central government that involves cooperation across localities. Another cooperative venture that was proposed was the establishment of a food bank platform to assist underprivileged groups. Lin Chia-lungTaichung MayorWe would use a logistics company to deliver fresh vegetables, fruits and meats in refrigerated vehicles, which could help assure the quality of the food that is provided.Taichung, Changhua County and Nantou County also agreed to cooperate on a tourism promotion association which will help attract more visitors to central Taiwan.
Taipei City encourages vocational students to travel overseas for training
Taipei City’s Department of Education actively encourages vocational students to undertake internships abroad in countries like Japan and Germany. Today, the city held an exhibition showcasing some of the students’ achievements. This included everything from electronic innovations to Japanese-style calendars and postcards to promote the Beitou hot springs. Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je is looking at a student’s recreation of Japan’s bullet train. This train is an exact replica built to1:90 scale size. And here we see a small remote car which seems to move on its own though it’s being controlled by this mobile phone.The cell phone communicates via Bluetooth to tell the car to stop. Technology is making many advances and soon we won’t need people to control cars.Taipei City’s Department of Education is promoting overseas internships for vocational students. Recently, 55 students participated in programs that took them to Japan and Germany. Students not only studied technology but also language. Some even pursued useful design skills in Japan and managed to create beautiful postcards and calendars that are now used as materials to promote Taiwan’s hot spring culture.Japan puts more emphasis upon culture, so we used hand drawings to recreate a Japanese style.Many are hoping that vocational students are able to bring back skills they learn abroad and contribute to Taiwan’s development.

It's midsummer here, and temperature is generally 28 to 32 degrees C, with 45% - 65% humidity - perfect scooter weather!

The Kuomintang of China (, KMT; (sometimes spelled as Guomindang) often translated as the Nationalist Party of China) is a major political party in the Republic of China on Taiwan, based in Taipei and is currently the opposition political party in the Legislative Yuan.
The predecessor of the Kuomintang, the Revolutionary Alliance (Tongmenghui), was one of the major advocates of the overthrow of the Qing Dynasty and the subsequent declaration of independence in 1911 that resulted in the establishment of the Republic of China. The KMT was founded by Song Jiaoren and Sun Yat-sen shortly after the Xinhai Revolution of 1911. Sun was the provisional President, but he later ceded the presidency to Yuan Shikai. Later led by Chiang Kai-shek, the KMT formed the National Revolutionary Army and succeeded in its Northern Expedition to unify much of mainland China in 1928, ending the chaos of the Warlord Era. It was the ruling party in mainland China until 1949, when it lost the Chinese Civil War to the rival Communist Party. The KMT retreated to Taiwan where it continued to govern as an authoritarian single-party state. This government retained China's UN seat (with considerable international support) until 1971.
As of 1987, Taiwan is no longer a single-party state and political reforms beginning in the 1990s have loosened the KMT's grip on power. Nevertheless, the KMT remains one of Taiwan's main political parties, with Ma Ying-jeou, elected in 2008 and re-elected in 2012, being the seventh KMT member to hold the office of the presidency. However, in the 2016 general and presidential elections the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) gained control of both the Legislative Yuan and the Presidency (Tsai Ing-wen).
The party's guiding ideology is the Three Principles of the People, advocated by Sun Yat-sen. The KMT is a member of the International Democrat Union. Together with the People First Party and New Party, the KMT forms what is known as the Taiwanese Pan-Blue Coalition, which supports eventual unification with the mainland. However, the KMT has been forced to moderate its stance by advocating the political and legal status quo of modern Taiwan, as political realities make the reunification of China unlikely. The KMT holds to a One China Principle: it officially considers that there is only one China, but that the Republic of China rather than the People's Republic of China is its legitimate government under the 1992 Consensus. In order to ease tensions with the PRC, the KMT has since 2008 endorsed the Three Noes policy as defined by Ma Ying-jeou: no unification, no independence and no use of force.

Briefs: Hsinchu City has been renowned as “Silicon Valley of Taiwan” due to its world leading high tech development and manufacturing in high tech industries. Accordingly, by naming Rotary Club of Hsinchu Silicon Valley (RCHCSV), the nature of innovation, leading, doubtlessness and incubation is cultivated.

民國99年9月1日決議創社社名及創社社長!
民國99年12月13日獲RI理事會通過正式核准!
民國100年1月4日舉行創社授證暨新竹北區扶輪社聯合例會。
民國100年4月2~3日舉行第一次宜蘭春季旅遊，共40人參加。
民國100年4月9~10日參加第13屆地區年會。
民國100年5月28日與新竹市府與辦桂花飄三民植樹活動。
民國100年6月21日與台灣高鐵、天人岩屋黃牧師共同舉辦大肚國小、沙坑國小的50位大、小朋友搭高鐵活動。
民國100年7月13日總監公訪。
民國100年10月3日與新竹北區社、西區社、中央社、百合社舉辦新竹縣富興國小改善及充實教學環境及飲水設備計畫。
民國100年11月19日與新竹北區扶青團於竹北新竹捐血中心舉辦捐血活動。
民國101年3月15日舉行春季旅遊。

2010, Sep. 1st Finalized the club full name and charter president
2010, Dec. 13th Formally approved by RI Council as RCHCSV
2011, Jan. 4th The official RCHCSL charter club ceremony and a joint regular meeting with the RC Hsinchu North.
2011, Apr. 2~3 The first spring tour to Yilan, with 40 participants.
2011, Apr. 9~10 Participated in the 13th RI 3500 District Conference.
2011, May 28th Host club of the fragrant Osmanthus tree planting activity in the San-Min District of Hsinchu Co-organizing with the Hsinchu City Government.
2011, Jun. 21st Host club of community service hosting 50 children from Hsinchu County Ta-Du and Shakeng Elementary Schools for visiting Southern Taiwan by Taiwan High Speed Rail, an activity jointly organized with the Taiwan High Speed Rail Corp. and Pastor Huang of the Sky Man Rock House.
2011, Jul. 13th Official Visiting by DG Tony RID 3500.
2011, Oct. 3rd Host club of District Grant project completing the donation program of Literacy for improving education environment and water facility at Hsinchu County Fu-Hsing Elementary School, a joint effort by Rotary Clubs of Hsinchu 2nd sub-district RID3500– Hsinchu North , Hsinchu West , Hsinchu Central, Hsinchu Lily, and Hsinchu Silicon Valley.
2011, Nov. 19th The blood donation activity at Hsinchu County Blood Center, jointly with Rotaract Club of Hsinchu North.
