Taj Nature Walk | Taj Mahal | INDIA | WORLD TRAVEL

Visiting the TAJ MAHAL a WORLD WONDER + Day Trip to Fatehpur Sikri | Agra, India
On my fourth day in India I teamed up with Tours by Locals to explore the Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri. Tours by Locals in Agra:
TRAVEL HUSTLE REPEAT GEAR ►
MY FILM MAKING KIT ►
The best way to get to Agra from Delhi is to take the high speed train which is called the Gatiman Express. It take's only 90 minutes to get to Agra. The train runs everyday (except Friday) at 8:10 am.
When I arrived Shanoo my Tours by Locals guide picked me up and took me straight to the Taj Mahal. This is the most beautiful building in the world! It is my 4th wonder and it was truly amazing!
After that we went to Handicraft Marble Industries to see how the same families that made the Taj Mahal still put inlays in to marble. This is definitely a must visit after seeing the Taj Mahal.
Lastly we headed to Fatehpur Sikri a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is located around a 45 minute drive South West of Agra. Fatehpur Sikri was founded as the capital of Mughal Empire in 1571 by Emperor Akbar, serving this role from 1571 to 1585. It was abandoned in 1610. If you have two days in Agra then you have to go visit Fatehpur Sikri!
I hope you loved this video! Have you ever been to the Taj Mahal or any other of the seven wonders of the world or Fatehpur Sikri?

A New Video - Taj Mahal - World Wonder in Agra - Trip From New Delhi - India Trip
The Taj Mahal (/ˌtɑːdʒ məˈhɑːl/, more often /ˈtɑːʒ/;[3] (Persian and Urdu: تاج محل meaning Crown of Palaces)[4] is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna river in the Indian city of Agra. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan (reigned 1628–1658), to house the tomb of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The tomb is the centrepiece of a 17-hectare (42-acre)[5] complex, which includes a mosque and a guest house, and is set in formal gardens bounded on three sides by a crenellated wall.
Construction of the mausoleum was essentially completed in 1643 but work continued on other phases of the project for another 10 years. The Taj Mahal complex is believed to have been completed in its entirety in 1653 at a cost estimated at the time to be around 32 million rupees, which in 2015 would be approximately 52.8 billion rupees (US$827 million). The construction project employed some 20,000 artisans under the guidance of a board of architects led by the court architect to the emperor, Ustad Ahmad Lahauri.
The Taj Mahal was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 for being the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage. Described by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore as the tear-drop on the cheek of time, it is regarded by many as the best example of Mughal architecture and a symbol of India's rich history. The Taj Mahal attracts 7–8 million visitors a year. In 2007, it was declared a winner of the New7Wonders of the World (2000–2007) initiative.

TAJ MAHAL AGRA INDIA travel vlog
TAJ MAHAL AGRA INDIA travel vlog
Visit the world wonder Taj Mahal in Agra, India as I take you on my journey through this travel vlog. Finally leaving Delhi, I make my way to Agra as to continue my tour through India's golden triangle.
Agra contains one of the most famous world wonders which is why it would be my next stop. This city is the smallest of the golden triangle, but with the biggest impact.
One day in Agra would prove to be enough to be able to explore the city, visit the Taj Mahal, and get a stunning sunset view. Agra city life proved to be a little less hectic than it's counterparts and the people were so friendly.
But the true gem of the city lies within the magical Taj Mahal. Finally getting to see it, I can honestly say it was more impressive than I could have imagined. Usually there is a little disappointment when you get to see something that you've read about or studied in books. Not the Taj Mahal, this world wonder has gained its reputation for a reason. Explore a little of this world wonder as I end my travel journey with a gorgeous sunset view.
Don't miss out on your chance to learn more about this incredible city and see what it's like to experience the world wonder Taj Mahal.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Pietra dura on TAJ : Heritage Tour at Agra Part 7
Here's Part 7 of our new Heritage Tour series as we explore Agra :)
Showroom: U.P. Handicraft Industries
(text from Wikipedia)
Pietra dura (Italian: [ˈpjɛːtra ˈduːra]) or pietre dure [ˈpjɛːtre ˈduːre] (see below), called parchin kari or parchinkari in the Indian Subcontinent, is a term for the inlay technique of using cut and fitted, highly polished colored stones to create images. It is considered a decorative art. The stonework, after the work is assembled loosely, is glued stone-by-stone to a substrate after having previously been sliced and cut in different shape sections; and then assembled together so precisely that the contact between each section was practically invisible. Stability was achieved by grooving the undersides of the stones so that they interlocked, rather like a jigsaw puzzle, with everything held tautly in place by an encircling 'frame'. Many different colored stones, particularly marbles, were used, along with semiprecious, and even precious stones. It first appeared in Rome in the 16th century, reaching its full maturity in Florence. Pietra dura items are generally crafted on green, white or black marble base stones. Typically the resulting panel is completely flat, but some examples where the image is in low relief were made, taking the work more into the area of hardstone carving.
