Takamaka Rum - The Trois Freres Distillery, Seychelles
Our website:-
Info on scuba diving visits the Trois Freres Distillery at La Plaine St. André and speaks with managing director and co owner, Richard d'Offay. Richard and his brother, Bernard started the business back in 2002 and now Takamaka is a brand known all over the Seychelles and beyond.
We sample the five core products and talk about how Takamaka came into being - originating as a recipe by their grandfather many years ago.
It is interesting to note that the d'Offay family can trace its roots back to one of six founding families of the Seychelles in the 1700's and today, they produce the rum at an old plantation dating from that era.
Visitors are welcome at the plantation house and to tour the distillery. You can also stay for a meal and a cocktail or two with Takamaka rum!
For more information, visit their website,

The rum brewery I met along the coast road. It is in the midst of work to squeeze juice from sugarcane. The raw material of rum is sugarcane juice. Fermentation for 4 ~ 5 days and distillation process of 2 ~ 3 times will produce alcohol with more than 90% water content. Here tourists will be able to tour the sugar cane plantation that started in the colonial period and various stories about rum processing. The end of the tour is always a taste experience. This brewery produces a variety of rum ranging from 20 to 43 degrees, with a variety of scents such as coconut and pineapple. This is an aged rum and is called Extra Dark. Likewise is 43%. I make two barrels. There are American Oak Bourbon whiskey barrels and French oak barrels. We mature for up to 65% for 3 years to make the best rum. They mix the two barrels and add some caramel. Everyone is in the mood for a special rum, which you can only meet in Seychelles. I think there is a big difference between South Africa and here rum. The rum here seems to have a stronger flavor and aroma. It's because I pay special attention to the sheep and rum recipes I make. The quality of sugarcane is also very high. It was great. I like St. Andre the best. This white rum would be good for cocktails.

Suddenly the shower falls. The rain stopped and I started silhouette tracking. After the rain, I walked through the more transparent jade-lit beach, and I see a sign telling the national park hiking entrance. As you enter, you will see another landscape. As if proving to be an island separated from the beginning of the continent, tall trees rise up among the gigantic rocks. It is a picture of the primeval forest that I have seen in the movie. This is the Anse Mondon hike course, which is about 3km from the hotel to Anse Mondon beach where the town was once home. If you walk at normal speed, it takes about two hours as one way. The humidity is so high that I have to rest a lot in the middle. You have to carry it with you. One step is almost rock climbing. There are obstacles on the hiking trails at the level of athletic training. Guide James seems to have difficulty in cutting down the stretched tree to make the road. Still, this hike has special fun. This is because of the dozens of special native flora and fauna including palm trees that can only be seen in silhouette. When you hike, you can see the trees that only live here. There is a Takamaka tree, the most famous tree in the Seychelles. It is used to make Takamaka rum. There are other native palms. You can also see the Stilt Palm Tree and the Thief Palm Tree. The observatory, which climbs up the maze through the granite, finally arrives. It is a scenery that I could not see when I walked in the mountains. Looking at the sculptures of the continent 150 million years ago in the Indian Ocean, the clear jade sea and the deep green jungle create a glorious glimpse of tired gentiles. I came to my house with my husband to feel the beautiful nature. It is nature where human hands hardly reach. This place is really impressive and I will never forget it forever. In a word, it is a wonderful place. I appreciate the presence of these places. The course was very difficult, but I could see and feel various things. After walking the course, you will feel satisfied at the end of the day. If you climb the top of the mountain, you will be able to see the view of the sea and it is really refreshing. It is worth trying to climb a mountain. This hike was the time to go back to nature's time.

Seychelles Islands
On this episode, we are in the Seychelles Islands, where we traveled from Mahe to Praslin and then on the La Digue. We got the chance to visit Takamaka Rum Seychelles Distillery, chat the Kreol King of the Islands Patrick Victor. We also visited the world famous #valleedemai and spoke with Sherin Francis of the Seychelles Tourism Board.
I enjoyed some local cuisine at #ChefJules in La Digue and relaxed at some of the most pristine beaches in the world. But first up we learned how to make Toddy on Mahe Island, just off the East Coast of Africa, on Caribbean Vibrations.

MY LIFE IN SEYCHELLES #4 | Intendance Beach | Semi - Submarine Eden Island | Victoria | Island Life
Happy New Year 2020!
Today's video is the last day of year 2019 and how i spent it with my family. I started with a nice beach walk, went home, did some cleaning, eating and taking care of my hair. Then my husband surprised us with a Submarine dive and we finished the day with a nice evening walk through Victoria where we enjoyed the Christmas lights.
I live in Seychelles for almost 5 years now and the island life is very slow and relaxed and completely different than life in Europe where i am from. Let me know if you enjoyed this vlog and ask me some questions if you wanna know more or if you wanna see more of Seychelles.

Seychelles Mahe beachs tour #10/17: ANSE TAKAMAKA
Fantastic beaches tour of Mahe island: seventeen beaches one more amazing than others.
Tour starts from Beau Vallon (#1) and touches the little Anse L'ilot (#2) and Anse Carane(#3) at Nord (one of my favorite).
After we go to south at Anse Royale(#4), evocative beach very frequented also by the locals excellent for swimming.
So not far there is Anse Forbans(#5) one of most autentic Sheychelles beach.
At the South point thera are Anse Basarca(#6), Petite Police(#7)and Police Bay(#8) Very wild beaches, perfect to stay alone, take sunbath or read a book.
Next of them, going up the west coast, there is Anse Intendance(#9) A large and long beach perfect to a sunset walking.
Near there is Anse Takamaka(#10) Another lovely beach where you can find Chez Batista Restaurant. On Sundays it organizes an unmissable barbecue.
Not far away, further north is one of my favorite beaches: Baie Lazare(#11); where you can find everything: Beach for walking, shade for reading or resting, beautiful rocks and swimming sea. I recommend lunch at Le Gaulette, order the red snapper fillet.
The next beach will be Anse Soleil(#12) An exclusive beach for romantic hearts.
Anse a La Mouche(#13) is instead the typical local fishermen's beach, worth a walk and some nice pictures.
Nearby is Anse Marie Louis(#14) very similar to Anse Intendance, also beautiful.
Finally you will arrive in Port Glaud(#15)and Port Launay(#16) as different from each other as they are both extraordinarily beautiful.
a lunch at Del Place Restaurant is a must: it is worth more than what you spend.
Lastly Anse Major(#17) the right reward for trekking lovers. I highly recommend doing it in the morning. If you want there there is a taxi boat to go back to the parking ( at the last bus stop, where the walkway starts).
