One day trip at Mount Takao
Mount Takao ⛰️(高尾山, Takaosan) is one of the closest natural recreation????️ areas to central Tokyo, offering beautiful scenery????, an interesting temple and attractive hiking opportunities. Although outside the city center????️, the mountain is still located within metropolitan Tokyo???? and takes only 50 minutes and 390 yen to reach from Shinjuku.????
Hiking ????to the top takes around 90 minutes, but time can be cut in half by utilizing the cable car???? or chair lift???? that lead halfway up the mountain. Mount Takao offers several activities besides the hiking, you can visit the temple⛩️, a monkey park????, an onsen♨️ and a museum.????

Mount Takao, located within the municipality of Hachioji City in the southeastern part of the Kanto mountainous region, is about 50 km from the center of Tokyo. Because of this convenient location, visitors can enjoy its natural beauty and the many other attractions all in a day's trip. In recognition of its magnificent beauty, the 2007 edition of Michelin's Voyager Pratique Japon, the famous French travel guidebook, awarded Mt. Takao and Mt. Fuji the maximum of three stars.
Visitors can climb Mt. Takao by taking a cable car or lift to a point 400 m up - halfway up the mountain. They can also climb to the top along one of three trails, each of which takes about one-and-a-half hours.

Mount Takao is located on the eastern edge the of Kanto Mountains next to the center of Tokyo. This Mountain is listed in the Michelin Guide as the most climbed mountain in the world with over 3 million hikers coming here every year. Mount Takao also has the steepest cable car in Japan.

Hachioji is the biggest city of Tokyo by area and it's located far to the west from the business center. But it's quite populated and many people go to Shinjuku in overcrowded trains every morning. The city is quite rural regardless of its size. Mt. Takao - one of most popular mountains of Tokyo is located here.

八王子へは東京駅から中央線で約60分。新宿からは京王線の特急で45分で到着します。
豪華な彫刻を施した19代の山車がお囃子の音とともに甲州街道を練り歩きます。江戸時代から続く八王子祭りのメインがこの山車です。この動画では太鼓や民謡流しの映像とともに、後半には代表的な山車の詳しい説明をしています。
2019年のお祭りのスケジュールは以下の通りです。賑やかな映像をぜひご覧ください。今回は８/３と８/４に撮影しました。

I went to Mt.Takao which can enjoy the Buddhist temple in the neighborhood very much from Tokyo-to center. There is history in more than 1000 in Mt.Takao. It was very mysterious. There were slightly too much people because I had gone in a holiday: (

You can go from Keio Line Shinjuku Station to Mt.Takao for only 380 yen by train. Moreover a special express arrives in 50 minutes. A hot spring also forms near the getting off station in October, 2015 and soba noodles of a specialty can also enjoy itself. Japanese culture of common people found to have here.
Even usual clothes are the low mountain which can be climbed quickly, so if I'd like to experience Japanese temple culture and mountain worship, please have by all means!

Hiking 599 Metres up Mount Takao to see Mt Fuji
Located around an hours train ride from Tokyo is Mt Takao. This 599m high mountain is a popular hiking spot. This is my 3rd time here and this time I went as I wanted to see Mt Fuji as it was a clear day.
It takes just over an hour to reach the top and there are several hiking ways up. The one I go in this video I've found to be the best. You can also get a cable car to near the top if you find walking difficult.

Mount Takao is in Hachioji City on the edge of the mountains of the southeastern Kanto region, about 50 kilometers from the center of Tokyo. This convenient location lets visitors enjoy refreshing natural surroundings and many other attractions in a single day trip. In recognition of their magnificent beauty, Michelin's Le Guide Vert Japon, the famous French travel guidebook, has awarded Mt. Takao and Mt. Fuji its maximum rating of three stars for several years running.
Visitors can climb Mt. Takao by cable car or lift to approximately 400 meters, or about halfway up the mountain. They can also climb to the top along one of several trails, each of which takes about 90 minutes.

八王子市追分町から高尾駅入口まで、ほぼ4kmにわたる甲州街道（国道20号）の両側に、約770本のいちょう並木が続き、季節に応じてそれぞれの風景で街を彩り、特に秋になると美しく黄葉し、道行く人の目を楽しませてくれます。
八王子いちょう祭りは、その黄葉の時期に合わせて開催されます。
このいちょう並木を守り育ててきた沿道の人々や、新旧の市民、さらに、学生や若い市民たちとの交流を通じて、八王子の街を愛する心をお互いに確かめ合いつつ、育てる機会を作り、併せて、自然と心のふれあう地域文化を創造し、地域の発展と社会的な拡がりを作ることを目指して、市民の活力を生かして協働のまちづくりを推進するため、有志市民により企画され、多くの市民の参画を得て市民手づくりの新しい祭りとして実施運営されています。
The Koshu Highway runs through Hachioji, lined for four kilometers with around 770 ginkgo trees from the Oiwake area to Takao Station. The trees decorate the area all year with different colors and looks. In autumn in particular, the ginkgo leaves turn bright gold, creating a beautiful scene for strolling amid the crisp air. Ichou Festa was established as a venue where those living along the Koshu Highway, longtime and newer residents of Hachioji at large, students, and all people young and old can interact and together enjoy the nature and culture of Hachioji. The festival aims to energize and broaden the city’s development while enabling residents to participate in an array of activities and performances. Unlike many festivals, Ichou Festa was created and is run by the residents themselves, and offers a unique experience for all visitors and participants.
