Art in the Ordinary Yamada Denki Takasaki, Japan
This is my second Art in the Ordinary exhibition. It was held from the 3th to the 15th of March 2015 at Yamada Denki Electronics Store headquarters in Takasaki, Japan. There were 57 photographs all taken in the city of Takasaki. The exhibition was unique in that it was interactive; by that, I mean that the viewers could view the art photo and then lift the title card and see the ordinary location where the photo was taken. This interaction seemed to be extremely enjoyable to all that came.

Garden of Unearthly Delights: Works by Ikeda, Tenmyouya & teamLab

Using fine point pens, inks, and acrylic pigments, the painter Manabu Ikeda creates detailed compositions comprised of imaginary worlds that are born from his own experiences and contemporary events.
Born in Saga Prefecture in 1973, Ikeda earned his B.A. in design in 1998 and M.A. in 2000, both from Tokyo University of the Arts. In 2011 he stayed in Vancouver, Canada, with a grant from the Agency of Cultural Affairs, Japan. Since June 2013 Ikeda has been working on a large-scale painting at a residency of Chazen Museum of Art in Madison, Wisconsin. This work is expected to be completed in three years.
His recent solo exhibitions include: Manabu Ikeda, The Obuse Museum & The Nakajima Chinami Gallery, Nagano Prefecture, Japan (2009); Meltdown, West Vancouver Museum, Vancouver, Canada (2013), among others. Ikeda has participated in numerous group exhibitions including: Bye Bye Kitty!!! Between Heaven and Hell in Contemporary Japanese Art, Japan Society Gallery, New York, US (2011); Zipangu—The Surge of Japanese Contemporary Art, The Niigata Bandaijima Art Museum, Niigata Prefecture (toured in 2012–13 to Hachinohe, Akita Prefecture, and Takasaki Museum of Art, Gunma Prefecture), Japan; Domani: The Art of Tomorrow 2013, The National Art Center, Tokyo, Japan (2013). His works are in the public collections of Chazen Museum of Art, Madison, Wisconsin, US; Mori Art Museum, Tokyo, Japan; and The Obuse Museum, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.

Discovering Mito and the North Kanto Region in Japan | nkvc2018
Let's discover the North Kanto town of Mito, the capital of Ibaraki prefecture, together!
In the video we'll travel around together to take in all the sights Mito, Ibaraki has to offer. We'll travel from Tokyo to Mito and learn about North Kanto history, see the sights at what is left of Mito Castle, take a stroll around Lake Senba in Senba Park and visit the Art Tower Mito. After all of that, we'll travel together back from Mito to Tokyo.

Art Exhibition with the Aikobo Group
From December 3rd through December 7th, the Aikobo Group and the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations co-hosted an art exhibition in the North Lobby of the UN Secretariat Building.
Aikobo is a welfare organization in Japan for persons with disabilities. Currently, 68 people work for the organization to create indigo-dyed fabrics and braided cord, two traditional Japanese crafts. For this exhibit, Aikobo displayed eight large tapestries, two embroidered works and one sashiko.
To mark the opening of this exhibit, an opening reception was held in the North Lobby on December 3rd, in conjunction with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This reception opened with a demonstration of how to make braided cord by Ms. Mika Hirako, who lives with a mental disability. Ambassador Yoshikawa and Ms. Mutsuko Takenouchi, Aikobo's Founder, then gave welcoming remarks, which were followed with a toast by Mr. Kiyomi Mikuni, Owner/Chef of Hotel De Mikuni in Tokyo.
More than 100 people were in attendance at the reception, including H.E. Mr. John W. Ashe, President of 68th Session of the General Assembly. Many guests left the reception with a greater appreciation for the Aikobo Group. The reception was widely covered by the Japanese media.

ドラマの影響もあって、意外に沢山の来観客がしました。
館内は写真撮影がOKだったので、canon 50D + EOS EFS17-55mmで撮った静止画をiphotoでスライドショーにしてみました。

Spring Day in Tokyo | Halal Wagyu, Ueno Park, Asakusa & Akihabara (Muslim Japan Travel)
This day in Tokyo was JAM PACKED - first, an onigiri wonderland at 7/11, then a quick visit to Harajuku and Jum'ah prayer at the Tokyo Camii Masjid. The rest of our day was exploring Ueno Park and Asakusa, trying HALAL wagyu(!!) and wandering through Akihabara. The dichotomy between the cultures all over was ASTOUNDING!
(While we were at the jumah prayer, Shahida and Adam, our lovely travel companions, were at DisneySEA!)
