Otsu, Shiga : Midera Shrine Complex
I spent the day at the beautiful Midera shrine complex in Otsu City, the capital of Shiga. It's a short train ride from Kyoto and Midera is worth it.

Biwako means Lake Biwa, which is Japan's largest lake ensconced in the middle of Shiga prefecture. Biwako Hall by the lake is probably Japan's best venue for opera performances. Giuseppe Verdi's _Aida_ would be performed on this venue in less than three hours.

First Snow in Otsu
I promise I'll figure out how to film properly... eventually...
So today marks the first snowfall in the Otsu area, Shiga prefecture. My walk to school was quite interesting considering this is my first time seeing snowfall and all I was thinking was, don't slip and fall, to which I was successful.
Unfortunately the area I live in doesn't expect tremendous amounts of snowfall throughout the winter but we do get some adequate amounts.
