Hello everyone! This vlog is about Patna Sahib Gurudwara, also known as Takht Sri Harmandir Ji. Takht in Sikhism means ‘throne of authority’ or ‘seat of power’ and it is believed that Patna Sahib is the second acknowledged Takht of the Sikhs. Constructed in the year 1666, this gurudwara is visited by thousands of tourists every year. Patna Saheb is where 10th Guru of Sikhs, Sri Guru Gobind Singh was born. This gurudwara was also visited by the first Sikh Guru- Guru Nanak ji and also the 9th Guru, Tegh Bahadur Ji.
Best time to visit- October to March
Chief attraction- Museum inside the gurudwara has prized possessions like gilded cradle, sandals, swords, swing and wooden comb of Shri Guru Gobind Singh.

The Gurdwara at Patna Sahib (Hindi: तखत श्री पटना साहिब) (Punjabi: ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਪਟਨਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ) was in remembrance of the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs on 22 December 1666,and like many historical Gurdwara's in India and Pakistan, this Gurdwara too, was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh (1780-1839), the first Maharaja of the Sikh Empire, on the banks of Ganges river, in Patna, Bihar.
It was here at Takhat Patna Sahib, that Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru was born in 1666. He also spent his early years here before moving to Anandpur. Besides being the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh, Patna was also honored by visits from Guru Nanak as well as Guru Tegh Bahadur.

तख़्त श्री पटना साहिब या श्री हरमंदिर जी, पटना साहिब (पंजाबी: ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਪਟਨਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ) पटना शहर में स्थित सिख आस्था से जुड़ा यह एक ऐतिहासिक दर्शनीय स्थल है। यहाँ सिखों के दसवें गुरु गोबिंद सिंह का जन्मस्थान है। गुरु गोबिंद सिंह का जन्म 26 दिसम्बर 1666 शनिवार को 1.20 पर माता गुजरी के गर्भ से हुआ था। उनका बचपन का नाम गोबिंद राय था। यहाँ महाराजा रंजीत सिंह द्वारा बनवाया गया गुरुद्वारा है जो स्थापत्य कला का सुन्दर नमूना है।
यह स्थान सिखों के दसवें गुरु, गुरु गोबिंद सिंह के जन्म स्थान तथा गुरु नानक देव के साथ ही गुरु तेग बहादुर सिंह की पवित्र यात्राओं से जुड़ा है। आनंदपुर जाने से पूर्व गुरु गोबिंद सिंह के प्रारंभिक वर्ष यहीं व्यतीत हुये। यह गुरुद्वारा सिखों के पाँच पवित्र तख्त में से एक है।भारत और पाकिस्तान में कई ऐतिहासिक गुरुद्वारे की तरह, इस गुरुद्वारा को महाराजा रणजीत सिंह द्वारा बनाया गया था।

Takht Sri Patna Sahib also known as Harmandir Sahib, is a Gurdwara in the neighbourhood of Patna Sahib, India. It was to commemorate the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs on December 1666. It was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh (1780-1839), the first Maharaja of the Sikh Empire, who also built many other Gurdwaras in the Indian subcontinent. The current shrine of Patna Sahib or Takht Sri Harmandirji Sahib was built in the 1950s.

Patna Sahib railway station, a railway station with same name located nearby, is connected to many metropolitan cities of India by the Howrah-Delhi Main Line.
The capital city of Patna is regarded as very sacred by the Sikhs in India. The tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh was born here. The Patna Sahib Gurudwara is considered to be one of the holiest of the five Takths or seat of authority of the Sikhs. The first guru of the Sikhs, Guru Nanak is also said to have visited this place. Sri Patna Sahib Gurudwara is situated in one of the old quarters of Patna. The place is named as Harminder Takth though the Sikhs respectfully call it Patna Sahib.
There is an interesting story behind the Patna Sahib. According to legends, an ardent devotee of Guru Nanak, Salis Rai Johri was highly inspired by the teachings of the Sikh gurus. He transformed his lavish mansion into a Dharamshala (lodge) where Guru Tegh Bahadur is also said to have stayed. The Gurudwara was reconstructed in the year 1839 after a fire destroyed the construction. Again in the year 1934, some portion of Patna Sahib was destroyed when a powerful earthquake jolted the state of Bihar. It was reconstructed in the year 1954.
The Gurudwara has a small museum in its premises which houses some relics belonging to the Sikh Gurus. These include hand written orders known as Hukumnamas of Guru Gobind Singh and Guru Tegh Bahadur that are preserved in a book. Other artifacts include a sacred sword, a pair of sandals made of ivory, four iron arrows and a cradle with gold plated stands. The holy shrine is visited by many devotees and is beautifully preserved till date.

Sonepur is situated in Saran district of Northern Bihar. Gurudwara is the sacred place of sikh community. People come here to worship their Gurus and recite the Guru Granth Sahib. In keeping with the rule observed at all gurdwaras worldwide, all gurdwaras are open to all persons regardless of their religion, colour, creed, or sex. The only restrictions on the visitors concern their behavior when entering and while visiting are one should maintain the purity of the sacred space by removing one's shoes and washing one's feet in the small pot of water provided. Another thing is that one should dress properly which means covering one's head while visiting the gurudwara, as a sign of respect.
