LOCAL THAI RESTAURANTS BESIDE A TRAIN TRACK IN BANGKOK | Talat Phlu, Thon Buri, Bangkok, Thailand
These local Thai restaurants are located right beside a train track in Bangkok. These local Thai restaurants are located at Talat Phlu Station in Thon Buri, Bangkok, Thailand.
It's quite interesting to see several small restaurants right beside the train tracks at Talat Phlu Station. Talat Phlu station itself is quite small, but it's quite historic.
I love seeing the local train stations, it takes you back in time.
You won't find any tourist around here at all, there are only locals.
It's definitely a great place to explore if you want to get away from the touristy areas of Bangkok.

TALAT PHLU STREET FOOD & MARKET | Talat Phlu, Thon Buri, Bangkok, Thailand
This is Talat Phlu Street Food & Market in Thon Buri, Bangkok, Thailand.
It is located on the main road of Ratchadaphisek Rd, right opposite The Mall Thapra.
I'm not quite sure what is the best time to go to this market, cause when I went it was around 4-5pm and I wasn't sure if they were winding down for the day or just getting started.
Either way, there was plenty of street food around and a little market there. Behind the outdoor market, was an open-air market, but all the stores looked closed. So I didn't go in.
But it was still a cool little strip.

UNUSUAL THAI MARKET UNDER A BRIDGE | Talat Phlu, Thon Buri, Bangkok, Thailand
This unusual Thia market is set up under a bridge in Talat Phlu, Thon Buri, Bangkok, Thailand.
It's definitely an interesting place for a market, but I guess this would be quite common.
I love how the Thais make use of every space they have. And that's where you get these interesting little gems.
This video was taken just after lunchtime, so I'm wondering if it was much busier earlier on, or if they open on weekends or evenings.
I would love to have seen it during its busy periods.

BEYOND THE TOURISTY AREAS OF BANGKOK | Talat Phlu, Thon Buri, Bangkok, Thailand
This is what it looks like beyond the touristy areas of Bangkok. This quiet Thai neighbourhood is in the local area of Talat Phlu, Thon Buri in Bangkok, Thailand.
I didn't know what I would find down this local Thai street, but it looked quite interesting. So I decided to take a walk down.
Within minutes, I already knew I made a great choice.
There's were olden style Thai homes, modified motorbikes to transport goods and even a local fire station hidden at the very end of the street. Which was unexpected.
But beyond the street is where it got really interesting. I continued walking and it turned into a quiet residential area.
It was very interesting to have experience that, to say the very least.
Locals were around doing their daily routines, like watering the plants, washing the dishes and even playing in a small blow up pool.
It was quite surreal witnessing how some people in this world lives. It gives you a different perspective on life.

THAILAND LIKE YOU'VE NEVER SEEN | Talat Phlu, Thon Buri, Bangkok, Thailand
This is Thailand like you've never seen before. Talat Phlu in Thon Buri, Bangkok, Thailand holds many old traditional Thai houses and markets.
Talat Phlu is now my favorite place to explore in Bangkok, Thailand. It has so many hidden gems in every street you walk down. You never know what you're going to find.
This street started off with old traditional wooden Thai style homes, with food vendors here an there.
I even stumbled across a Chinese temple/shrine in this street.
I decide to turn right at the end of the street and I found myself in a residential area/market area.
It was awesome, to say the least. I didn't expect to find that in these little hidden alleyways.
That's why I love Talat Phlu so much, cause you never know what you'll find.
I do wonder if the market was busier earlier on or if it gets busier later on in the evening when everyone finishes work.
I will have to come back again around those times to check it out.

Walk always at talad phlu (bangkok)
nothing
Bangkok Foodie Adventure @Talad Phlu | Thai Food Emporium
Talat Phlu (ตลาดพลู) is the market where we start our latest Bangkok foodie adventure. Transported via super-modern underground and sky-trains to within a short walk of this ancient part of the city. The market (Talat) which dates back over 200 years to the reign of King Taksin, originally sold betel (Phlu), and was home to the Thai-Chinese community before the current Chinatown took over.
Some of the descendants stayed on, and Talat Phlu is now known as a neighbourhood with many restaurants and street foods such as red barbecue pork (khao moo daeng - ข้าวมูแดง), egg ice cream, or 'coconut milk ice cream with frozen yolk', savoury crepes, fresh spring rolls (por pia sod - ปอเปี๊ยะสด)
We sample all these and more as well as catching the old railway train out to Mahachai with its own market, temples, gardens and pier, before heading back to Talat Phlu to grab some more food from the stalls that only open in the afternoon. Yummy!!
As seen on

THAI NIGHT MARKET AT A TEMPLE | Wat Krachap Phinit Night Market, Talat Phlu, Bangkok, Thailand
This is a Thai night market held at a local Temple in Talat Phlu, Thon Buri, Bangkok, Thailand.
The night market is called Wat Krachap Phini Night Market. It's a small local market, at a temple selling, fruits, vegetables, meat and produce. It's not a big market, but it's just big enough for the locals.
I'm surprised to see a temple at a night market. This is probably my first time seeing a night market at a temple.
I was quite at the time I was there, but I would have liked to see how busy it gets when the sun goes down.

LOCAL TRAIN STATION & MARKET IN BANGKOK | Wongwian Yai Station, Bangkok, Thailand
Wongwian Yai Station is a local train station & market I found while on one of my expeditions.
What makes this local train station so special is the small markets in and around the station.
It seemed as though the vendors were packing when I was there so I can imagine how busy it would have been earlier.
This station has the essence of an old historical Thai train station in Bangkok, Thailand.
It's as picturesque as Hua Lamphong Station, the main train depot in Bangkok, Thailand.
I'm not quite sure where this station goes, but even if you don't catch the train here. It's well worth the visit.
HOW TO GET HERE
The BTS SILOM LINE and get off at WONGWIAN YAI BTS STATION. Walk along THANON KRUNG THON BURI (away from the Chao Phraya River).
CROSS THE ROAD, when you reach the big intersection and TURN RIGHT at SOMDET PHRA CHAO TAK SIN RD.
Walk all the way down until you see RIM THANG ROTFAI or the big sight on your left that says WONG WIAN YAI STATION. You won't miss.
Good luck & safe travels.
