Three large sea arches known as Talava Arches are located very close together on this South Pacific island nation of Niue, which is located about 1500 miles NE of New Zealand.
The Talava Arches are among the most spectacular landmarks, and the maze of caves, rock pools and coral formations are worth the half-hour rugged and sometimes slippery hike (take sturdy footwear) to the arches.

The caves led to two large arches (about 10m tall) in an area with steep cliffs. I felt quite small here with the tall cliffs, large arches, and large waves. There were also a bunch of smaller caves on the cliff wall, but I didn't want to explore them by myself. Sorry for the poor video quality.

NIUE, EXPLORING incredible NATURE at MATAPA CHASM (GORGE), SOUTH PACIFIC
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go to the island nation of Niue which is a small island nation in the South Pacific Ocean. It’s known for its limestone cliffs and coral-reef dive sites. Migrating whales swim in Niue's waters between July and October. In the southeast is the Huvalu Forest Conservation Area, where trails through fossilized coral forests lead to the Togo and Vaikona chasms. The northwest is home to the rock pools of Avaiki Cave and the naturally formed Talava Arches.
We are going to visit Matapa Chasm which is noted for its expansive cliff face and historical importance as a reserved bathing place for Niue's traditional kings. It is reached by a track which branches off from the main road at the foot of Hikutavake Hill and beside the start of the trek to Talava Arches. Matapa Chasm provides a sheltered snorkelling, swimming place for all.

Inside Tavala Caves, Niue. It was quite unexpected for me to run into caves on my first hike around Niue in the forest trail to Talava Arches, but it turns out caves are very common on the island. This cave was right by the ocean, which caused a lot of interesting sounds in the cave, which was quite intimidating since I was there by myself and completely did not expect a cave!
