55 Windows Palace (Pachpanna Jhyale Durbar) was built during the reign of the Malla King Bhupatindra Malla who ruled from 1696 to 1722 AD and was not complete until 1754 AD during the reign of his son Ranjit Malla. The Statue of King Bhupatindra Malla in the act of worship can be seen on a column facing the palace. Of the square's many statues, this is considered to be the most magnificent.
Nyatapola Temple
Nyatapola in Newari language means five stories - the symbolic of five basic elements. This is the biggest and highest pagoda of Nepal ever built with such architectural perfection and artistic beauty. The temple's foundation is said to be made wider than its base. The temple is open for the public once a year - during Dashain. The goddess who owes the temple is Goddess Shiddhilaxmi. and as bodyguards, those statues are built, which we can see in five layers of the base of temple. It is said that it took three generations to complete that temple. The temple is famously known as pancha tale mandira.

The Durbar square at Bhaktapur was severely damaged by an earthquake in 1934 and hence appears more spacious than the others, in Kathmandu and Patan.
Originally, there were 99 courtyards attached to this place, but now only 6 remain. Before the earthquake, there were 3 separate groups of temples. Currently, the square is surrounded by buildings that survived the quake.

The Naga Pokhari or Naga Phuku basin-fountain in the Sadashiva Bhairab Chowk at Bhaktapur Durbar Square in Bhaktapur in Nepal. There is miniature temple near the snake idol in the water reservoir.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square the city is also known, is a museum of medieval art and architecture with many examples of sculpture, woodcarving and colossal pagoda temples consecrated to different gods and goddesses which is 15 km far from Kathmandu. It is a conglomeration of pagoda and shikhara-style temples grouped around a fifty-five window palace of brick and wood. The square is one of the most charming architectural showpieces of the Valley as it highlights the ancient arts of Nepal. The golden effigies of kings perched on the top of stone monoliths, the guardian deities looking out from their sanctuaries, the wood carvings in every place-struts, lintels, uprights, tympanums, gateways and windows-all seem to form a well-orchestrated symphony. Pottery and weaving are its major traditional industries.

Naag Pokhari: Bhaktapur Durwar Square
Located through the Golden Gate in Bhaktapur Durbar Square to the rear of the courtyard outside the Taleju Temple. Built in 1678 by Jitamitra Malla from a natural spring the Naga Pokhari (Royal Bath) is also considered a hiti as water pours from a gilded stone water spout into a sunken basin. You can't help but notice the huge snakes that encircle the bath. These are Nagas which are deities that take the form of water serpents. Did you know? A Hiti is a water basin that is filled from a natural spring through a spout. Back in 1678 the Royal Bath was a part of a much larger compound which has disappeared through the years. You are allowed to walk down into the bath which contains some great words of art surrounding it. The hiti was featured in the film Little Buddha.

Kathmandu durbar square, Nepal
Kathmandu durbar square is spread over large area and consist of many temples including Kasthamandap, Vishnu Temple, Indrapur Temple and Taleju temples. Kathmandu durbar square is much bigger than Bhaktapur or patan durbar square. Kumari Chowk at the end of durbar square was most curious attraction for us. We wanted to see the kumaris who are chosen as human incarnation of the Hindu goddess, Durga. Our guide suggested us to come back after finishing the tour at 4 PM to see her and glad we did.
The unique thing about temples in Nepal is their wooden carving, which are undoubtedly one of the best in the world. One of the striking feature is struts design, which supports the temples. Each strut is fine example of art with god, goddess and mythical figures carved in the middle. Only few temple inside Kathmandu durbar square are active and devotee can be seen all the time.
