Tali Temple, Kozhikode
Built in the 14th century by Swamy Thirumulpad, the Zamorin, within his palace complex, this temple is the venue of Revathy Pattathanam, the annual cultural and intellectual event. The Tali Temple is a fine example of the total integration that can exist between wood and laterite, which is a remarkable feature of the Kerala style of architecture. The intricate brass-relief on the walls of the sanctum sanctorum and elaborate brass carvings on the wooden roof are quite fascinating.

scholars held since ancient times at Kozhikode in Kerala, India. Traditionally a seven day event, the festival used to be held under the patronage of the Zamorin of Kozhikode. The prime event of the assembly, is the conferring of the title Bhatta along with a panakizhi (purse of money) to selected scholars. Tali temple, Kerala
Tali Temple is one of the oldest and the most ancient temples around. It is a very distinct temple, and its history goes all the way back to the times of the Zamorin rule. In general, Tali Temple is a Shiva Temple, and it receives pilgrims and visitors in abundance each year. In fact the Tali Temple has five different religious ceremonies that are performed every day, but the best time to visit the Tali Temple in its full grandeur is during the Malayalam New Year which is a very joyous occasion with a seven day festival that centers around the main deity in the temple.
