After training Shaolin Kungfu in the Netherlands i travelled to the Shaolin Temple in China, Henan Province, Dengfeng. Enjoy my video i made so you have a impression of this great and historical place.

Shaolin Entrance

A place located 300 meters from the temple with Shaolin schools, hotels
and residence for (international) students.
The 8 hour training
A short impression of training in Shaolin with power stretching, basics, sanda, acrobatics, taolu and grading.
TaLin (Pagoda Forest)
Located 300 meters to the west of Shaolin Temple. Pagoda Forest is a grave yard for the abbots of past ages or monks who have made significant contributions to the temple. According to the rule of Buddhism, only the greatest monks can be buried inside the towers after they die.

Shaoshi Mountain & Sanhuangzhai monastery
one of the seven mountains forming the Songshan mountain range. On top (you have to walk a few hours) you find the Sanhuangzhai monastery. Sanhuangzhai is an old (now being renovated and redeveloped) monastery sat near the top of the south-western part of Shaoshi mountain. It's where Master Shi Dejian, a 40-something-year-old Shaolin monk, has been living and training for over 20 years. He is a successor to the Wugulun style of Shaolin kungfu and teaches the traditional knowledge of Chan-Wu-Yi.
Dengfeng City
In the weekend foreign students are allowed to visit the nearby town Dengfeng for massage's, buying food and visit the many Kungfu stores.
Mountain Run
Every Friday midday the students have to do the Mountain run up to the Dharma Cave. About 1100 steps up, running down and this for 1 to 3 times. Every week the student have to beat his personal time record.

Shi De Feng is one of the greates living Shaolin Masters. He grew up in the Shaolin Temple and runs now the Traditional Shaolin Kung Fu Institute near Shaolin. The Traditional Shaolin Kung Fu Institute is kept small to support the ideas and values of traditional Kung Fu.

Pagoda Forest (Chinese: Ta Lin)
Het Pagoda Forest (Chinees: Ta Lin) staat ongeveer 500 meter van de Shaolin tempel en is de grootste Pagoda Forest van China. In het begin werd de pagoda waarschijnlijk van hout gemaakt maar daarna voornamelijk van stenen. Er zijn verschillende vormen pagoda's. De pagoda kan bestaan uit vier delen de underground palace welke niet bij elke pagoda aanwezig is, de pagoda base de pagoda body en de pagoda temple. De pagoda's hebben 1 tot 7 (oneven) lagen. Het aantal lagen is afhankelijk van de status die de Boeddhistische monnik had.

所謂【塔林】，因塔數目很多，散佈如林，故名塔林。少林寺塔林是中國現存數量最多、規模最大的古塔群，共有歷代的磚石墓塔240餘座，面積達14000多平方米。塔的層次一般為一至七級，最高可達15米，造型有正方形、長方形、六角形、圓形、柱形、錐體、瓶體、喇叭體等。

少林寺塔林，历代高僧圆寂之地。高僧墓塔七级最高，一级最低，其中有个别新塔为现代仿建，塔上有飞机、汽车、高速火车、轮船等，目的是与时俱进让高僧享受现代物质生活。

Selle aasta oktoobris viime läbi Hiina avastusreisi - Lääne Rahust Põhja Pealinna.
Teekonda alustame Xian'ist (Lääne Rahu), kus tutvume Siiditee aegse pealinnaga, terrakotasõduritega, uurime külaelu. Tee viib edasi teise iidsesse pealinna, Luoyangi. Märksõnadeks siin on Longmen'i koopad ja Valge Hobuse tempel, mis on Hiina vanim, siiani tegusev budistlik tempel. Edasi sõidame Dengfeng'i, kung fu koolide linna, kus asub ka Shaolini tempel ja Song'i mägi. Jätkame Taian'i suunas, et veeta päev Taishan'il, kõige pühamal taoistlikul mäel. Võtame suuna viimasele linnale, Beijing'ile, mis tõlkes tähendab Põhja Pealinn. Uurime põhjalikult linna, mida enim on kujundanud kaks viimast keisridünastiat - Ming'id ja Qing'id.
