Must see arboretum located in Hachioji City, nestled in the hills.
The site was previously a battlefield where Hojo Ujiteru fought Takeda Shingen, then placed under custody of the Tokugawa shogunate. A short 10 minute walk from the Keio Takao Station.

Takao(高尾),Maybe the Last chance to see Sakura this year in Tokyo. Now,The cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
I took the train on this morning(April 4), I have seen a lot of cherry blossoms in full bloom along the chuo rapid line(Kokubunji and Kunitachi, especially Takao- Mt, Takao). Still chance to do hanami!(Tama area-Western Tokyo)

Park Hours:From 9:30 to 15:30
Charges: April 400 yen for adults, 150 yen for children, from May to March 300 yen for adults, 50 yen for children.
Bringing alcohol into the garden and drinking it there is prohibited.
There is a footpath, but wearing shoes and clothes suited for a walk.

Where I started filming: Although this video was filmed at 24p, being uploaded on YouTube, it might be not 24p anymore. I don't know. This video file was exported at 32 Mbps of bit rate in average and 32 Mbps at maximum. ISO, aperture, shutter speed, focus, all were automatically controlled.

Mount Takao In Japan Japanology (高尾山 Takao-san)
Mount Takao (高尾山 Takao-san) is a mountain in the city of Hachiōji, Tokyo, Japan. It is protected within Meiji no Mori Takao Quasi-National Park.
Standing 599 metres (1,965 ft) tall and located within an hour of downtown Tokyo, it is a popular hiking spot, with eight hiking courses and more than 2.5 million annual visitors. The Tama Forest Science Garden is also located at the mountain's base.
Mount Takao is closely associated with tengu, minor kami from Japanese folklore, and the daitengu Naigubu. A Buddhist temple, Takaosan Yakuōin Yūkiji, is located on the mountain.

多摩森林科学園の桜 桜図鑑
高尾駅から徒歩十分の多摩森林科学園。著名な桜の都心の桜が散るころに行ったのですが菊咲とかはまだつぼみです。桜の種の保存のための桜園は「国立遺伝学研究所」や「日本花の会結城農場」も全国からいろんな桜を集めています。多摩では自然の地形を生かした山の中の桜園です。結構高低差があるのでトレッキングの用意がいいですね。品種別のスライドショーは後で作成する予定です。
R&B Hotel Hachioji
Shiroyama Dam, Honzawa Dam and Mount Takao are within easy driving distance of the R&B Hotel Hachioji. Hitotsubashi University can be reached with a 20 minute drive. Haneda Airport (HND) is a 90 minute drive from the hotel. Internet access is available for travellers wanting to keep connected while on the road. Hachioji town centre is within an easy 10 minute drive.

夕刻の中央本線八王子駅 Chuo Line Hachioji Station evening
2009年に撮影しました。カメラを回したのは僅か数分だけでしたが、201系を捕らえる事が出来ました。183系によるホリデー快速も撮りました。夕方に訪れた為、八王子駅の発車メロディー(上り)の｢夕焼け小焼け｣が、とてもシックリくると感じたのは自分だけでしょうか･･･。

サクラ・さくら・桜の多摩森林科学園を散策してみました。ここには４００種以上、１７００本の桜が植えられ、毎年２月下旬～５月上旬にかけて長期間楽しめます。正にここは桜の宝庫です。
