Taman Negara National Park, Malaysia
National Park Taman Negara is a complete Jungle! | Follow Mike in Malaysia
We woke up after terrible rain in Jerantut, bought a rain cover for my hammock, and started hitching to National Park Taman Negara. Got lucky (As always) and got a car straight to place we wanted to go, got inside a park, and climbed hill called Bukit Terisek (Teresek) it was hell of a climbing, but we managed it, and went to sleep.

It takes more than 3 hours to reach Taman Negara (National Park of Malaysia) where the forest has more than 3 million years of history. The scenery was amazing and seems everything was so wonderful and the air was cool too.

The Best Rainforest Experience in Taman Negara Pahang
This is the best and most memorable Malaysia experience in my lifetime. This might be even better than Amazon. Beautiful place you could enjoy without making a big hole in your pocket. Danz Ecoresort is by far the best yet the most accommodative place for nature lover. TransMalaya trip enjoyed this experience. Guys, we have a beautiful country. Please take care of the nature, keep your rubbish with you. If you can't help to clean the river and the jungle, please do not add more rubbish into it.

Taman Negara is the most extensive protected area of pristine, lowland, evergreen rainforest in Malaysia. The stated purpose of Taman Negara is to utilise the land within the park in perpetuity, for the propagation, protection and preservation of indigeneous flora and fauna.
Dating back over 130 million years, Taman Negara is one of world’s oldest tropical rainforest. During the Ice Ages, much of the Earth was covered by immense glaciers that kept the global climate cool. Consequently, many of the planet's tropical rainforests had to wait until the glaciers receded before they could evolve. Taman Negara rainforest, however, was blessed with a location far enough away from the ice that it developed 130 million years ago - far earlier than those of Africa and Latin
America. The forest itself is one of the most ancient on the planet, far older than the equatorial forests of the Amazon or the Congo. It has for tens of thousands of years been the home of nomadic forest people, and ancient civilizations have flourished as well as disappeared in its vastness.
Legends abound & archaeologists have only just begun their efforts here. Equally exciting discoveries are now being made by genetic biologists, who have begun searching the wealth of life in Malaysia's forests for new medicines with which to combat AIDS, cancer, and many other illnesses. Taman Negara is also a home to Peninsular Malaysia's highest peak ie. Gunung Tahan as well as a home to more than 10,000 species of plants, 300 species of mammals such as the Sumatran Rhinoceros, the the Asian Elephant, tigers, sun bear and tapirs; 300 species of fish and over 380 species of birds.
With so much to see and to do, a trip to Taman Negara is a must on your itinerary.

MUTIARA TAMAN NEGARA (NATIONAL PARK)
Explore Malaysia’s Premier National Park
A virgin jungle expanse covering 4,343 square kilometres, Taman Negara was established in 1939 and is Malaysia’s first and largest terrestrial national park. It is also one of the oldest rainforests in the world, estimated at 130 million years old. The abundance and diversity of nature here is phenomenal, making it one of the world's most complex and rich ecosystems.
Canopy WalkWay Taman Negara Pahang [FHD]
Taman Negara was established at the Titiwangsa Mountains, Malaysia, in 1938/1939 as the King George V National Park. It was renamed to Taman Negara after independence, which literally means national park in Malay. Taman Negara has a total area of 4,343 km2 and has a reputation as the world's oldest tropical rainforest, estimated to be more than 130 million years old.[1][2]
Taman Negara encompasses three states, Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu, each with its own legislation. The Taman Negara Enactment (Pahang) No. 2 of 1939 is enforced in the state of Pahang, the Taman Negara Enactment (Kelantan) No. 14 of 1938 in the state of Kelantan and the Taman Negara Enactment (Terengganu) No. 6 of 1939 in the state of Terengganu. The enactments have similar contents.
Taman Negara Pahang is the largest at 2,477 km2, followed by Taman Negara Kelantan at 1,043 km2 and Taman Negara Terengganu at 853 km2.
Canopy walkway
The park has been developed into a famous ecotourism destination in Malaysia. There are several geological and biological attractions in the park. Gunung Tahan is the highest point of the Malay Peninsula; climbers can use Kuala Tahan or Merapoh[3] as their departure point. Taman Negara is the home of some rare mammals, such as the Malayan tiger, crab-eating macaque, Sumatran rhinoceros, Malayan gaur (seladang) and Asian elephant. As well as birds such as the great argus, red junglefowl, and the rare Malayan peacock-pheasant are still found here in some numbers. Tahan River has been preserved to protect the Malaysian mahseer (ikan kelah in Malay), a type of game fish.
Others attractions found near Kuala Tahan (Park headquarters for Pahang) include a canopy walkway, Gua Telinga (cave system), Lata Berkoh (rapid). Visitors can enjoy the tropical rainforest, birdwatching or jungle trekking (e.g. Tenor Rentis) and the river views along the Tahan River.
All visitors to the park must get permits from the Department of Wildlife and National Parks.

I love traveling. I experienced overnight camping for the first time overseas. I tried it in Ili lake, back in Kazakhstan, and even at that time, my emotions were indescribable.
This time we explored Taman Negara, the third oldest rainforests on earth after Daintree Forest in Australia, and Borneo Lowland Rainforest in Indonesia. It’s 130 million years old. Even Amazon Rainforest in on the fourth place.
Taman Negara is the perfect place if you like trekking and outdoor activities. There are many activities like rafting, rapid shooting, camping, caving, fishing, trekking.

Taman Negara National Park, Malaysia
Malaysia's largest park, Taman Negara, covers nearly 4,500 km2 and is the oldest tropical rain forest in the world. It has remained intact for over 130 million years due to its prime location, untouched by the ice ages and away from volcanic activity. One of the main attractions at Taman Negara is the canopy walk which is the longest in the world at 510 meters. Canopy walk is a series of v-shaped rope suspension bridges with a narrow plank upon which to walk. The highest bridge is 45 m above the jungle floor. It is not terribly comfortable here nor is it possible to see much wildlife but, the real incentive to visit Taman Negara is to see the most pristine primary forest on the planet.
